Re: whats the lil pipe going from TB onto the cam cover??????
It has to do with the PCV... there's one or two threads about it on the US forums. Apparently, the tubby has a rather complicated PCV system, consisting of 2 channels (the big one from the cam cover to the intake, plus this little one). There's still discussion on the exact inner workings of it... D...

A friend came by to see them, and we took the opportunity to take some pics of our cars together: http://t...

From http://toymr2.tripod.com/fcd.html : Red with Blue is the +5vdc from the ECU (terminal "VC"). Brown is the circuit ground ( terminal "E2"). Blue is the reduced voltage signal used to power the OEM boost gauge and initiate fuel cut. (terminal "PIM"). Snip the Blue wi...

Re: Most quiet exhaust for tubby?
Or does anybody know a company that could produce me a one off piece? But without having the car by them as driving from germany to uk wouldnt be really good ;) How about driving from Germany to Holland? ;) There's a company called E.P.S. in Hoogezand that specializes in making custom exhausts and ...

Re: [Mk2 Turbo] what rpm on choke?
In winter, with temperatures around freezing, my rev1 idles at 1700 rpm on choke :o There's also quite some light grey fog from the exhausts for the first few minutes. After that, the idle will gradually come down until it's at 900 or so when the coolant's warmed up. In summer it'd be somewhere arou...

Wow, that's pretty fast going! Just installing a downpipe took much longer on mine
(but then again, I had to do it lying under the car, PITA job).
Gonna fit a Mongoose this Saturday

Re: Newbie- new turbo owner general queries
on a rev 1 it will cut the fuel once boost hits 11 PSI, 18 PSI on a rev 3 Fuel cut defenders by the likes of HKS/Fensport etc will get rid of the fuel cut, they cost about £70 and are spliced in to the ECU. Which is way too expensive for what you get (essentially one potentiometer, costing less tha...

Re: Charcoal Cannister Thing On Tubbies?
I have a rev 2 tubby and appears this has been removed. What is it and do I need it? The charcoal canister is part of the emission control system; it helps lowering the release of hydrocarbons into the air. Removal of the charcoal canister may cause the car to fail emissions tests, although I think...

Do your passengers appreciate you violating them in order to store your jacket?

I reckon it's difficult to complain, having a jacket stuffed down your throat

There's a topic on #1 a bit further down the listing: http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23445 As for #2 and #3: I don't know what I get separately, but I average about 1 liter per 9.5 kilometers (about 22 mpg). I don't have many mods, but the ones I do have didn't make a lot of difference...

Re: [Mk2 Turbo] Miles To Tank
I normally drive between 200 and 230 miles between fill-ups, but then I can only put in about 40 liters, although the needle is almost on empty (full tank is 50+, right?). Large reserve, I guess.. Max I got was 270, can't remember how much I had to put in after that, but I do remember that the warni...

Re: Oil temperature/pressure gauges
I also have an adapter/sandwich plate; the idea behind it is good, but they're not all that... Currently, it is removed (temporarily, I hope) because of a slight oil leak, so watch out for fitment! Beside that, it is not a good location for a temperature sensor, which will always read too high, bein...

Re: bing bing or bling bling
Hmm... instead of a nice "bing bing" my (US) tubby makes a horrible loud *BEEEEEEEEEEP* when I don't have my seatbelt on. Unfortunately, I normally start the car and then put it on, so I always have to listen to it whine... What's worse: there's no beep when I forget to turn off the lights...

Re: Poll to decide whether a spoiler actually serves a purpose.
As far as I know, the spoiler on the MR2 is not for downforce (as said, with the weight of the engine in back, the back is going to stay down all by itself), but to reduce drag... It has to do with the cooling of the engine bay. Because of the straight rear window, a low-pressure zone is created abo...
