Has anyone fitted these to their MR2?
Where can the sensors be bought, more importantly where in the engine can they be fitted?
It's for a MK2 Rev 3 BTW

temp can be tapped into the side of the sump.
You'll need to take it off and make sure it's fitted very well.
Pressure is taken from the pressure sensor by the water housing, just to the left of the rocker cover. It's a single wire sensor. Bare in mind that remove ths stock sensor and fit an aftermarket sensor, the stock one won't work.
the stock one is good for letting you know, if you have pressure or if you don't. Unless running a highly modded car I'd leave it stock for safety issues. But each to their own.
I'm thinking that it should be possible to retain the stock sensor by installing a T adapter?
Following on from that, is it then practical to locate the temperature sensor there too?

I got myself a "sandwich plate" that fits between the oil filter and the block with two holes for the sensors in it.
That way I get to keep the OEM sensors in place
about £25 from ebay

Yeap thats exactly the same one as I bought.
I cant comment on the fitment yet as I've not had a chance to fit it, I am hoping to do so over the winter as soon as I've decided where I am going to mount the gauges
A-pillar, din slot, somewhere special

I was thinking that the din slot could be the right size for the gauges.
I prefer it so be discreet so as not to attract the attention of a thief, but viewable at the same time.

I also have an adapter/sandwich plate; the idea behind it is good, but they're not all that... Currently, it is removed (temporarily, I hope) because of a slight oil leak, so watch out for fitment!
Beside that, it is not a good location for a temperature sensor, which will always read too high, being so near to the exhaust manifold, turbo and downpipe. And my AutoMeter pressure sensor (quite large cilindrically shaped) wouldn't even fit there
I mounted my gauges in the din slot, I initially used a greddy sandwich plate but i couldn't get it to stop leaking, so i removed the old oil pressure switch and stuck my new sender in there. I'm looking for a t piece at the mo so i can re-connect the standard sender (but i keep an eye on my gauge so can moniter any problems from there :

From what I have read here I'm think that the best way to go is as follows:
Mount the gauges in the din slot.
Avoid a sandwich plate, instead use a T adpater on the oil pressure switch.
I'm not quite sure about the oil temperature sensor. Maybe it can be mounted on another T adapter, or it can be screwed in to a spare hole on the block somewhere (maybe on my N/A there is one?).
If this could be done, thne it wouldn't be measuring oil temperature, but would be some help.
The only place to get true oil temp. reading is in the oil sump, away from engine block / coolant heat etc.
sandwich plate is a second best but not ideal.
I got my sump sensor fitted at 3s, drilled, tapped, sealed and treated.
take the plunge!
