My *hand*polished CT20b & chromed turbo heatshield

Post by Edwin »

So... what do you think? Very pleased with the results myself!

- Hand-polished low-mileage CT20b turbo
- Chromed turbo heatshield
- Sandblasted & powdercoated pipework

A lot of time, a lot of sandpaper, and a lot of sore fingers for the polishing part. The chrome plating was quite expensive: around 100 GBP for this heat shield, a Celica alternator heatshield and a special hose clamp.

I recently did my intercooler pipe's but they never came up that good. Best whip em off again and get sanding.. Was knackered after an hour lol.

Looks top m8

I currently have the exhaust heat shield, rear engine bay heat shield, 'X' cross bars and a bracket being chrome plated! Hopefully getting them all back for the weekend. Will post pics when they are back.

A small update on where my engine bay's going!

Image
Putting in the wrapped PP SMIC pipes! Still need custom pipe from ARC box to turbo.

Image
Blitz sparkplug cables... an exact colour match with Samco!

Image
ARC induction box... super-nice kit, but comes with standard green coupling hose. Replaced by nice blue Samco coupler.

Still got a lot of polished stuff waiting to be installed!
Does anyone know wether or not the intake manifold can be taken off with the engine still in the car?
