Regarding these copy HKS BOV's I believe there made by a company called MONZA, I’m not just saying this to put them down, just passing on information already done in testing stateside, they were found to be using cheaper components than HKS and prone to leaking.

Sorry but I stand by my statements of you get what you pay for. You cheap out and you get a cheap piece of rubbish in the long run.

lol its ok :D i was expecting someone to say I’m being argumentative, but that was quite subtle

Just saying you get what you pay for, and its not just brand names because there are some versions of products made by little companies are great, look at the chargecooler dino was doing for instance, not a big name big name but quality all the same.

Now how many crappy trainers or jeans have i bought that fall apart because there copies and cheap, Same thing here.

There exactly the same, but there also cheap for a reason

You saying those 2 pictures are of the same intercooler?

The core look completely different, one looks like a bar and plate core and the other a tube and fin. Which ironcially is the differences between the one being sold in the states and the original greddy.

With the BOV's i'm just passing on the conclusion that was came to over in the states with the same product. Nothing against you bud.

:) ok buddy, let us all know. If we can get a good cheap intercooler that flows as well as the branded items i'll be looking at buying some in for sales.

Thanks bud it wasn't a personal shot at your or anything. Keep up the good work :)

Same here... once there's some more info on this, other people have tried it and it comes out OK, I might jump on the bandwagon. This page is bookmarked ;)

Aslong as it's better than the oe crappy intercooler £300 aint bad really.

this was my point at the start. Some of the tests done showed that they weren't. It was down to a cheap core being used that didn't flow well and had poor cooling properties. If they could use the better core it would be great but i guess it won't be £300 anymore then.

lol thats because it is the same pete :) SSAutochrome don't make there parts either they come from a manufacture in japan, XS Power are also the same company, also something "Rock" in california, can't remember the full name.

I don't understands people aim to waste money, these have been proven in the states not to be any better than the standard mr2 intercooler, so why waste £300+ on something just because its shiney.

Don't get me wrong once someone comes up with some good information on these i'll take it all back but at the moment every test done on them show poor flow and poor cooling. I would love this to work as i'd get some in as a budget version.

If you want to spend £300 on better cool your much better going for water injection.

Come on xs power please prove me wrong as a budget intercooler would be great.

Jimmy,
If you want these bad boy intercoolers to walk out of your warehouse, I suggest you invest in a day at a rolling road & get some proper readings.

Its also worth mentioning that, that wont please everyone here as they will moan that the RR won't show proper air flow over the intercooler.
Perhaps a trackday with a temp sensor would be better...

Just a thought, if you crack the case on this one the intercoolers will sell themselves.

:)

it would be good, a track day with air temp sensor at the throttlebody would be much better.

I'm unfortunatly a person that argues that the intercooler can never be tested unless its on a moving car, Do the testing and if proven they will sell well :)

I got this from XS power:

Hi there thanks for the email
its exactly the same as a greddy.......
no differance, except price....
regards
jason xs power

I personally still won't be buying one till I know exact figures on cooling.

Michael.
