This is the information I recieved back from Blue Print when I enquired as to clutch sizes for the Mk1.
ADT33026 for models built before 6/85 - 200mm disc
ADT33099 for models built after 6/85 - 212mm disc
Thus only 1A's made up to 06/85 have a 200mm clutch.

I would def check the motor, this can be done by shorting out the switch connector and as you will have to disconnect this to remove the door trim prior to changing the motor etc well worth doing.
