Window motor. The window motor on my 2 isnt working. I ordered one thru ebay. It came with the guides i guess they are and a little black box thing with some tyoe of plug connector on it. Easy to swap out? I plan on doing it the next nice day. The morot bolts to the door? If so is it bolted or rivetted? Thanks in advance for the info. TIM
This guide is for replacing the window gears (which is possibly the actual failure you're suffering from as it's pretty common) but detalis removal and replacement of the motor pretty well. It's a bit fiddly to manouvre the motor into position when undoing the torx bolts but it's not a bad job to do. http://www.twosrus.com/new/Lower_Frames ... KIgear.PDF
Is it the passenger side?
If so before you change the motor have you checked the passenger side switch, you can disconnect the switch and bridge the terminals on the connector to make the window mechanism work (can't remember what dose what exactly). The switch causes issues because there is no relay in the circuit and operation from the drivers side is also routed via the passenger side switch.
Hope this helps.

Pass. side works fine. The drivers side motor doesnt even make any noise. The guy who gave me the car said it was broken so. I payed 65 american for the motor and the strips il call them, along with the black box thingy.
I've got the same problem with my drivers window at the moment - no noise or movement when operating the switch.
I connected the motor direct to the battery and it works (just reverse the wires to make it go up again). I'm pretty sure that it must be the switch and hope to pick one up this weekend but at least the motor is ok.
Suggest you try this first as it is going to be difficult to change the motor only to find out it is the switch (only two screws and an electrical connector to worry about).
The guys mechanic said it was the motor, so assuming that the mechanic knows what he is doing would of did that trick. Im not replacing just the motor. the motor i got is attached to the arms or watever u would call the that bolt to the window.
You'll be much better off removing the motor from the other stuff and just swapping the motor over, will be a much simpler job than trying to replace half the mechanism.
I would def check the motor, this can be done by shorting out the switch connector and as you will have to disconnect this to remove the door trim prior to changing the motor etc well worth doing.

Took the door panel off and there was the metal cord fromthe motor all over the place. It was all tangled in the motor and was snapped in a couple of places. Replaced everything. but I know the new motor works but i think i broke the switch. Wat wires do i need to bridge so i can get the windo up? I also checked ebay n i founs the driverrs switch i need but the guy wants 50 American for it. Is that a good price?
Thanks, Tim
