Don't know why, but my MK2 Rev3 just had to be called Betty - kinda lame (no - very lame), but it's how I refered to her.

My 1a is refered to as Red Betty. Only because the plate ends in BUU - "Betty Boo"

The "Track Car" term is used a fair bit between Jo and I too.

I have to add that Red Betty is a complete slag. She loves being teased and abused - alot

Names are vital, all my cars have had names, my MR2 is called 'Marty' which seemed the fit well with the letters.
I've got a black Audi A6 called 'Spook' (because it looks like an MI5 staff car), before that I had a MkIV Golf GTI called 'Nessie' (big green and a bit of a monster), before that was a silver one called 'Otto' (just sounded big fat and German), before that was a Rover 414SLi which didn't have a name as it was utterly without soul (hmmm, fairly OK car but dull), before that a Jetta called 'Morris' (Lou my other half thought it looked like an Ital) and my very first car was a Polo called 'Genevieve' simply cos it's a car name and there was a G in the numberplate.

But if you don't give em a name how can you beg them to start in the morning or make it to the next petrol station when you're on fumes? They need names.

Mine's called Tiamat!

After the five headed dragon from the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. On the basis they are both 80s beasts but you wouldn't want to mess with them!

edit: oh yeah, and they both roar!

My old, rusty white one (RIP) was called Teabag...mainly cos i'd rather have someone slap their nuts in my face than have it back!

And my current red one is called Mojo...

So called because 22 1/2 hours after buying it I was forced to take evasive action and ended up in a field...for almost a month I was without it and, having crashed Teabag (RIP) 2 weeks previously through completely my own fault, i was a little bit disheartened by everything..and anything.
Therefore after the second crash all I wanted was my Mojo back (think Austin Powers!).

And that was before Clarkson gave the name to some yellow thing? Astra-cupra-clio-leon?
Honoustly can't remember what it was, which is saying something.

100 decibels on choke tickover when we got it. Nice. :P

Murray :)

Everyone keeps telling me cars are always female, but I don't think mine is. I've never really named cars before, but Murray the MR2 seems quite fitting.

O that was your CAR in the garage I thought it was an expensive stereo cum coffee table?

My car is called Jersey since that where she originally came from. Should really be Élan with the number plate? (Failing that anyone knows a Lotus driver wanting to give me silly money for it? )

Ahhh well :-k ... of course they are female O:) ... this is because they are reliable, dependable, dont let you down and are great fun to be with \:D/ and always there when you need cheering up ...AND... they cost you a fortune .... but are worth every penny  ... I call mine Mable (but dont tell anyone I said so, specially not the car! ) and this is because "her" reg is MBL but mostly I refer to it as "the two"
