Re: Ticky noise

now then, this may sound way off, but check your manifold studs are tight enough, escaping gas would make a tappity sound which most mistake for worn valves etc.

Worth a look!

Re: [Mk2 ] Trim removal

Best to use a trim tool, or if not a flat blade screwdriver, carefully start at the thin part above the door (to the rear) and evenly pull it bit by bit until you get the the A pillar then that should unclip easily, then lift it out from the dashboard, you'll need to slide your hand behind to discon...

Re: T Bar Roof leaking

Try rubbing vaseline into the rubber, sounds a little kinky I know, but this over a short period of time will make the rubber seal more supple and expand a little, better than spraying crap from halfrauds all over it!

Re: Intercooler affecting idle? Overfuelling issue?

Did you do an ECU reset after doing this mod? Let the car get to its peak temperature, then reset the ECU, do this by removing the EFI fuse ideally for around 120 seconds, then refit it and take your car out for a thrash for about 5 minutes for your ECU to cope with the new mod. You should do this w...

Re: Dump valves for rev2 turbo????

Stick to the stock recirc bov, its the best there is, if you must have an atmospheric bov then the HKS SSQ does the job perfectly.

Steer clear of single piston valves, or you'll get a healthy garage repair bill.

Re: Newbee here! and in much need of advice!

The rev 1 and 2's have bigger turbo's (ct26) the rev3's and 4's have (ct20b)
But the smaller turbo is better as they pull hard to the redline not like the ct26's which tend to tail off around the 6k mark.

Value wize the rev3 turbo will be the best bet any day! \:D/

Re: Am I hitting fuel cut off?????

Set boost to .8bar and reset the ECU, if you're running the stock turbo you'll find that 1bar+, you'll hit boost cut.

Stay below 1bar fellar.

Re: timing belt worries

Yeah thats right, the 3sgt/ 3sgte's are safe engines, with enough valve clearance should the timing belt snap. the timing belts are about £30 ish from Mr-T, you should be able to get anyone to fit it and set it up cheapish.

Re: Stalling Every now and again

Yeah, remove the atmospheric dump valve and refit the stock one, I tell you fellar, the stock recirc is the best there is. The dump valve is situated obviously after the AFM, which measures how much air has been induced, the reason for the popping etc is because your starving the car of air which th...

Re: top speeds

I've had an indicated 165mph from my old rev2, up against a mad VW Corrado 2.9 VR6 Supercharger, the guy in the VW said he saw a touch more than that, but not all speedos indicate the same.

Re: Dump Valves

In my opinion, I recon its the safest, I had a Blitz super sound on my Skyline but had to run it WITH the standard recirc or it would run like a bag of hammers, then I got the HKS Supersiquential fitted which was a direct fitment for the recirc, removed the shitty Blitz one and it runs sweet as ever...

Re: Break Discs/Pads

Matter of taste really, I'd go with the cross drilled and grooved personally.

Green stuff pads are good fot the money, you could use mintex, I think they're similar in price, dust free too ima.
