This has been answered thousands of times...

You have a few options:

1) Silicon lubricant spray: it softens the rubber providing a better seal. Made by a company called Holts.

2) Black silicone sealant. Similar to the stuff used in bathrooms, fills in gaps. Apply it to the glass, rather than the seals, so it can't be seen when the panels are out.

3) Eccentric rod guides. Available from Toyota, they provide a better tigher seal for the panels.

4) New rubber seals. The most expensive option.

Try rubbing vaseline into the rubber, sounds a little kinky I know, but this over a short period of time will make the rubber seal more supple and expand a little, better than spraying crap from halfrauds all over it!

Vaseline is petroleum jelly, and as its oil based may permanently damage the rubber in the seals. The Halfords stuff is specifically formulated as a rubber lubricant and won't damage the rubber.

Fitted my eccentric rod guides at the weekend ( took less than an hour ). In the 4 rainy days since, including a 250 mile round trip to Sheffield today in rain and fog, not a single drip of water has come in :D

Got them from Toyota

Eccentric pockets ( the holes on the car the rods go into ) are £1.12 + VAT each , part no. 63284-17030

Guides ( part no. 63284-17040 ) are £2.68 + VAT each

You need four of each to do both sides, and you also need four M4x10mm machine screws to lock the guides in position ( got mine from B&Q )
