MK1 Import Fog Light Wiring

Does anyone know if there is a write up about wiring a fog light into the light cluster?

Does the wiring come through to the dash or does all this need to be wired through?

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

Hopefully will make it to a few shows, the only down side in the blue interior for me, but my first one had blue so I'll learn to love it again!

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

Thanks guys, I first came across it on the American forums, has to be almost 2 years ago now. It was only by chance I came across it again when I was back on their forums. There are a couple of absolute mint cars that had come up for private sale from America in the last few months, the left hand dr...

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

Max, just had a look at that link, the car is going to NE London and then up to Scotland! I'll definately have to get in touch with Richard and see what he can do. Just mention IMOC I guess if the guy has an interest in MK1's too. The car Im bringing over is from Canada, a tintop JDM that the guy im...

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

The car is coming in a container so I'm hoping this will give it some chance in terms of finding a bonnet badge still in place! Thats a classic with the tyres, can just see some jakeys, having the car up and stealing the tyres! I really am going to hope I get lucky in these terms. The car lands in S...

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

The car has actually been laid up (although pampered) for some time before it got on the ship, there are pure hurdles presenting themselves every turn with this, Would anyone bet against ye old Toyota to make it 400 without a blip....touch and go for sure, good point on the tyres. I happen to know t...

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

Just learned about DVLA's splendid idea about having insurance before they will register also, is this to keep individuals out the import game?!

Trade plates have insurance usually that cover any car?

So much hassle, at least avoided that sva test though, cheers for all the input guys.

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

Thats what I was thinking, 1989 car, £1-£2k value, Toyota badge should help it through in regards to that too!

I love the tax put on top of shipping price, that really is the cherry for her majesty and the lads.

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

Good info Flat Pack, cheers. Looks like I'll have to book it in for an MOT and drive the 400 odd miles to get it there, arguably, if its in one journey, would be legit! I'll have to call a few insurers, I wonder if them short term policy people would do it with the VIN only, find these new policies ...

Re: Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

I remember seeing on an import site something about RX-7's newer than 97' not being able to be imported as they didnt pass some kind of the SVA so the ten year thing must still stand.

Thanks for the info, Ill get the VIN and then all will be jolly,

Thanks

Is SVA required for MK1 SC Import?

Trying to find some info on the SVA test and if I'll need to get this carried out for a '89 Supercharger, also, is it in any way possible to insure an unregistered car to drive it home? I went to DVLA website and it says if the car is driving to an appointment for an MOT test, it can be driven on th...

Re: sc importing

Low mileage SC's in Japan go at a premium as they are becoming more rare, they can fetch upto £4-£6k in auctions I believe with that mileage and no rust.

Re: Anyone looking to buy an absolute minter?

That beautifully clean suspension reminded me of Gun Metal Grey when I first bought it! It is a shame they never officially brought the Supercharger to the UK, there have been a fair few low mileage n/a cars for sale this year, pity there will never be a few 30,000-40,000 mile Superchargers around 3...

Re: Experiences in a MK1.5

After all, an SE is just an mr2 with stickers, paint, seats and steering wheel, it doesn't have a SE performance enhancement or special engine so there's no loss there by chucking out the gze. I was half thinking this myself! Its the styling more than anything else that makes a SE special and all t...

True about MPG, I guess a Supercharged V6 does sound more appealing than a n/a V6!

Does the V6 give any more power? Is this conversion not just going to leave you with a smooth engine that gets 10mpg?!

Re: Experiences in a MK1.5

It would really be about buying something newer without the hassle of up and coming rust problems. The MK1.5 performance though is up there apparently with a lot of them newer cars. I have had this dilemma before when considering importing a nice Supercharger with prices around £5.5k on some sites. ...

I read that the weight difference beween the 4AGZE and 3SGTE isnt that vastly different, the 3S just a little heavier?
