Anyone looking to buy an absolute minter?

Post by waynestoyotamr2 »

Not strictly sure if I am allowed to do this, but I saw this car at Tatton Park and it is truly immaculate!

I would imagine he wants about £3500 for it?

Sorry mods if I am out of line posting this - but thought I should point it out!

As this is not your car, just something you have seen, its okay to post a link.

However - how do you know this is the one from Tatton, 'cause i know for certain that 1 of the mint red MK1's from Tatton was sold to someone already and is not this one.

AFAIK the other mint red MK1 at tatton had std wheels.

Jo - might be pure coincidence, but the location, the wheels, mileage and overall condition adds up to be the one from Tatton!

Either way, its a bloody lovely car!

Not so sure on that. :?
As far as I remember, like Jo, one of the mint cars at Tatton had standard wheels in very good condition and I know the where abouts of the other. ;)

hi Wayne

I'm 90% sure that's not been to the Tatton show, the red one which attended has been sold. The other red one was withdrawn from sale. Beccy enjoyed herself so much at the show she wants to keep it.
There was a white 1b, but I'm not sure about this one..

BTW Tatton August show is up in the Events section...

The one from Tatton was Nigel Mellor's car, and was a Mk1a on a D plate. Bought by Si Cook's dad I believe?

The car was a work of art.... every bolt plated, everything powder coated, perfect paint.... it put this car well in the shade IMHO.

Looks like a good car though from the pics though....

Can't remember which wheels he had on at Tatton, I know he'd bought a brand new set of original wheels from Toyota!!

Yup - was beaten by another mint car.
the standard was extremely extremely high.
this car was missing some frunk trim etc (and had muddy front mats 8-[ ) whereas the other 2 strong contenders got extra marks here IIRC

I realise it was a high standard and I guessed it missed out becuase of the trim, but me being me liked the fact it was missing so you could see all the nuts bolts and fuses polished  but thats why you have judges and everyones views are different :thumleft:

My dad had the best mk1 as totally original i have ever seen but he sold it last year, it went up to Scotland and haven't heard much about it since :(
It really was a stunner! everything as it should have been, no respray!
It came second at the 2004 meet that was the 20th anniversary for the mr2's, even though my dads car had not had a respray throughout it's lifetime, as the winner had, my dad lost because he didn't have a Toyota battery.
Now how can that be right!!!
