The car is coming in a container so I'm hoping this will give it some chance in terms of finding a bonnet badge still in place!

Thats a classic with the tyres, can just see some jakeys, having the car up and stealing the tyres! I really am going to hope I get lucky in these terms. The car lands in Southampton and is then transported to London for collection, no actual way to collect from docks with this company apparently, probably just because they want me to use a particular agent.

I actually had a note of the mileage taken, not that it will have much use I expect if the car has been rallied to London.

Put in for a quote with the transporter guys, cheers for that link, its looking that will be the most hassle free option.

Cant believe that this thread has come this far without someone asking Rich:

1) What are you importing?
2) Can we see some pictures!

Max, just had a look at that link, the car is going to NE London and then up to Scotland! I'll definately have to get in touch with Richard and see what he can do. Just mention IMOC I guess if the guy has an interest in MK1's too.

The car Im bringing over is from Canada, a tintop JDM that the guy imported from Daie Motors, 23,000 original miles!

It was originally up for sale at CAD$15,000, about £7600, the guy had terrible trouble selling for that price, only due to the fact it was a right hand drive and it couldnt legally be imported into USA. I had looked at this car before I bought my Gun Metal Grey last year, it was simply to expensive though. Only came across it again about 3 months ago and sealed a great price! There is of course shipping and taxes but for the price; new punto or this? Has to be SC! Halfers with my bro on it too so took the sting out of the cost plus two enthusiasts for the price of one with a vested interest.

Thanks guys,

I first came across it on the American forums, has to be almost 2 years ago now. It was only by chance I came across it again when I was back on their forums.

There are a couple of absolute mint cars that had come up for private sale from America in the last few months, the left hand drive a big turn off though, this one just couldnt be sold because not many would entertain the right hand drive.

This will be the last MK1 I buy, this should be the pinnacle of MK1 driving and Sunday polishing!

Have been flirting with the idea of selling the 23,000 mile engine and putting in the 3SGTE, sacralige no doubt, but what about that solid chassis with 300 odd break!

Hopefully will make it to a few shows, the only down side in the blue interior for me, but my first one had blue so I'll learn to love it again!
