Re: Legal advice - NEW DEVELOPMENTS - Further Update!
there's a similar post to this in piston heads every now and then. Whilst a variation on a theme, they're often pretty funny. I recall there are 2 areas where a buyer has recourse against a private seller: - if the advert was knowingly misleading or false, or the seller lies when asked a question. E...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil in intercooler pipes
how much is some? some will be sucked through the positive crank ventilation (PCB) tube so I'd expect if you run your finger round, it would come away a bit greasy. but if you can tip the pipe on its end, and a puddle forms, then that's too much in my opinion. there will be loads in your intercooler...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox mounts
Evening you would have noticed if all 4 mounts were missing! as the engine would be resting on the rear subframe, the exhaust flexi would probably snapped, the intercooler pipe would have pulled off, and the drive shafts would be at the wrong angle, and generally you'd have all sorts of problems. Ba...

Re: [FINALIZED] 1994 Rev 3 GTS t-bar for sale - £1,750
Evening all, I've had a few more questions: turbo blades: no damage that I can see to these - pics below. detonation: this happened before I rebuilt the engine, and hasn't happened since. As soon as I got my car I realised it was smoking heavily, but decided it was still cheaper (and fun?) to rebuil...

my motorbike has a simple dial to twist, but my MR2 idle speed has never budged a smidge in 5 years
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So rather than start adjusting things, I'd be looking for a vacumn hose or sensor plug left loose or split.

Re: Oil in intercooler pipes (follow up)
Hi there I've not seen your first thread. However, how much oil are we talking? there's 4 litres in there, a few table spoons in the wrong place can make quite a mess. When my car was having oil retention issues, the throttle body pipe was a good trap for it, and removing the rubber sock would alway...

Re: V POWER usage
v-power is £125.9 at my shell today :( So measuring xxx far on £10 is never the best comparison here's what I do: reset the trip when I fill up. Always fill to the brim, or as near as damn it as I can get. when I feel like filling up, compare the miles driven, with the amout of litres it taks to bri...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch pedal adjustment?
this is a question for anyone who as adjusted the clutch pedal on the back, there's a lock nut attached to the actuator rod. When undone, the actuator rod can be screwed into the clutch pedal - shortening the rod, or out of the clutch pedal - lengthening the rod. I would assume that: screwing out th...

Re: Help me choose right parts for a cambelt change
what year is your car? there is one tensioner, and one pulley. http://www.ayrpark.plus.com/epc1/toyota/fullimg.asp/piid=58617&mid=5&cid=215&fulldate=11_01_1993.html the tensioner on my rev3 is hydraulic. ie. there is a mini damper and piston built into the tensioner. this piston pushes t...

Re: what is koni "sport kit"
I there yes, Koni shocks have adjustable dampening force - a little nipple on top can be rotated. they are yellow I belive the red springs are manufactured by Koni, (or some sub contractor on their behalf) I don't know who h&r are. Eibach are well rated, but there are 2 typres - proline and spor...

Re: what is koni "sport kit"
ssk153 sport suspension kit you get the 4 inserts, and 4 red springs. the springs are about -15mm, and I found them quite harsh and crashy on the surrey roads, but fine I guess if you want fast road and perhaps a bit of track driving. I bought this as it was cheaper than buying the 4 inserts individ...

Re: rear ball joints
hi there you don't need to undo the suspension arms certainly have a go at lining up the ball joint before you start undoing the arms but you either - slot the ball joint into the arm, and try and bolt it into the bottom of the hub, or; - bolt the ball jount to the base of the hub, and try and slot ...

Re: Anyone know this car?
my rev3 had a shattered ringland on piston 3 at 60,000 miles. it happened with the previous owner - the actuator tubes looked original... I was never really sure of the exact cause I got away with just honing the bores, as no damage to them. I've since read a lot of this failure on GT4 and MR2 sites...

Re: Some good advice needed ??!!
Hi there my in laws are in Aberdeen - its hell of a drive from the South East, and even North England is a good few hours away, which must be limiting your options quite a bit. my car is up for £1.7k, but if I was going to keep it long term I'd probably want to fit a refurb'd gearbox (£500) some mid...
