New MR2 owner

Post by Harold »

Hello chaps,

I am the proud owner of a very nice rev 3 turbo which has probably become my most favourite thing in the world.

The cambelt needs doing however and i thought whilst this is done i might as well get any other bits in the same area replaced, what would you chaps suggest?

I was thinking water pump, alternator belt and cambelt idler pulley? I want to be thorough as i don't want anything to go wrong.

In the service history i have records of the air conditioning belt being changed also, but i'm not entirely sure what this is, i thought the alternator belt would power the AC. Can anyone enlighten me?

And one last thing, can anyone recommend a specialist garage in wiltshire or nearby? The closest one i know of is 3s Service Center, but it's still about 70 miles away.

Thanks very much.

Hi

The air con belt is also driven by the engine pulley wheel but is different to the alternator belt.

Can't recommend a garage but I'm sure someone will.

Ok, thought it was strange as i couldn't find an aircon belt on any parts websites. Can you link one please?

Thanks for the link, an oil pump pulley? Or the oil pump itself?
