[Mk2] [Turbo] Converting 3S-G engine to Inline RWD

Anyone know what toyota gearbox would bolt up to the 3S-G block? I'm thinking of an FR project. Perhaps the T50 gearbox?

Re: clutch slip!

Here's how I check for slip.... drive around to warm up the clutch normally. Put the car on an incline and stationary. Engage 4th, rev to 4500 release clutch and put your right foot down. If your clutch is ok then the engine should die. If the revs increase once released the clutch, stop immediatly ...

Can anyone recommend me a clutch kit? I use my car on trackdays 8-9 times a year. Running 1.1 bar boost, rest is standard.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Uprated wastegate actuator

Any gains to be seen by upgrading the stock waste-gate actuator?
The stock does tend to trail off some boost after 5500 RPM.

What about pre-loading the stock actuator? how much should you give it?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo Not working (Solved)

ok So here is how I would trouble shoot:

1) check speedo drive to see if it is producing a suitable output.
2) Check or renew the cable.
3) Lastly, new speedo unit in the dash.

I doubt the speedometer would fail, I have seen ones sill working after 200,000km!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo Not working (Solved)

Start with the speedo drive on the gearbox. Do you get the check engine light if you drive for more than 8 secs with RPM between 2.5-5k? If not then your speedo is prob partially working coz the ecu is still getting a signal but no display. (its error code 42 btw if you dont have a speed signal). So...

[Mk2] [Turbo] AC not working, help troubleshooting please

As above, I have the compressor not kicking in when I switch on the ac button. System is filled with gas. Its a 1991 model

Is there a methodical way to troubleshoot? Can I use the diagnosis of the engine to find a fault?

All help appreciated pls

While I am waiting for my mech speedo drive, I get the check engine light occasionaly and it is error 42 IE speed sensor error. Does this have to do with the electronic speedometer? Does this error eff...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Dashboard lighting

There is no rear fog light. When I replaced the 3s-ge engine with the 3s-gte I also replaced all the wiring. Everything else works, its just that when I press the brake, this light lights up in the instrument pannel. Rather annoying :( so if there is no easier fix I was going to remove the bulb.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Dashboard lighting

Couple of problems I have with the dash lights. I have converted an N/A to a turbo, and I have the oil quantity light (amber oil light) remaining on on the dash. The turbo engine does not have a connector for oil level, so should I just join this connector to earth or is there another way of fixing ...
