Re: [Mk2] [NA] Ticking Noise from Inlet - Help identify it please?
Removed the ACIS over the weekend - and it was the clip holding the two shafts together. Tightened it up and has stopped ticking now. \:D/ Thanks again! Im tempted to take the butterflys out completely- having read some dyno printouts, it does little to increase the low end torque - Hardly noticable...

[Mk2] [NA] Ticking Noise from Inlet - Help identify it please?
My inlet manifold has been ticking for some time. After investigation into the cause, and some fiddling with the vacuum hoses to make sure the tvis system is operating properly I have managed to get the ticking to stop but only when i remove the vacuum hose from this pressure regulator thing: http:/...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Won't start in damp - tried everything we can think of.. desperate!
I had this exact problem, turned out to be the igniter pack was badly earthed on the bracket the ignition coil is also on.
Just replaced the whole bracket and igniter and coil with a cheap
(£10) scrapyard set and has been spot on since!

[Mk2] [NA] Will rev 3 n/a cams fit straight into rev 1 head?
Will rev 3 cams fit straight in rev 1 head? Im rebuilding my head (reseating valves, a slight skim, and check valve clearance) to refresh my rev 1 , researched a bit and read that the rev 3 n/a cams are more aggressive. Now if i just replace the cams with the rev 3 ones - will it make an improvement...

Re: Best way to get more power out of an N/A ?
Rebuilding my head is something im just about to do on my rev 1. Before i do though i had the idea of using a rev 2 or rev3 head. Would they fit still? Im guessing that the manifolds and electrics are different on the rev 3 head. Any suggestions? Is it the rev 3's head that gives it better bhp than ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Fitting my pillowball top mounts
Ok so if i get hold of those sleeve type nuts, it should work fine. So am i correct in thinking that there is no other part that goes in between the spring cup and topmount (I.e no dust cover as on the OEM topmounts or anything else)! And by the way what topmounts do you have and how much/ where fro...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Fitting my pillowball top mounts
Thanks for the help. I need to know about pillowball topmounts though! I bought them second hand, but there seems to be some part missing - dont know what though! All i got was 4 topmounts, no special nuts or sleeves etc. I've just been out for the last 2.5 hours fittng tein springs. I had an attemp...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Fitting my pillowball top mounts
2. To fit the front ones, do i simply undo the nut on top of the strut, remove the OEM topmount, and replace with the pillowball topmount, with no washer or anything inbetween it and the spring cup? :o  NO!! The topmount is what retains the spring, and can only be removed once you've taken t...

[Mk2] [Generic] Fitting my pillowball top mounts
Hi ive just bought these topmounts to fit onto my stock (rev1)shocks: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w146/jason_pmr2/Topmounts.jpg A few questions: 1. Having never used pilloball topmounts, do i need any other bits apart from what is shown in the picture i.e washers nuts, any sort of adapter? 2....

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Changing the Anti Roll Bars and bushes
Just noticed that my rear anti roll bar is fouling on the chassis either side(Near the bends at either end) - It appears that the ARB is able to slide throught the bushes either way(depending on which way you corner. I had new poly bushes fitted, and yes i checked they are holding the bar tight, but...

Re: GB: SW20 Front Anti Sway Bar Reinforcement Plates
Are these plates just a simple bolt on item? Excuse me if im being stupid, but i can't see how adding a plate will prevent the bolts being ripped out of the body under strain. Surely plate or no plate, the bolts are still threaded into the same holes in the body and hence will be just as likely to r...

Re: Rockingham International 24thFeb '08 BaT
Got to meet the chap in the red mr2 challenge car, was a very busy day, i found myself constantly wanting to be out on track. However the oil temp reaching close to 150 after 10 minutes got quite annoying, spent more time cooling down in the paddock i think. Really enjoyable day, gunna try and do it...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Fidanza Flywheel problem!
If you use a turbo pressure plate it won't fit the input shaft on the gearbox. Turbo and na shafts are different diameters. The pressure plate/cover plate will fit, it doesnt have anything to do with the input shaft on the gearbox, the clutch disc however wouldnt fit on the N/A flywheel. Well at le...
