JP said the price was £80 + vat, so that’s just shy of the £100 mark, even after I took the exhaust off and delivered it to them.

To be far it seems like a common price, the other couple of places came back at £100 and £120 so they were just the cheapest.

sure mine had the orginal catch removed (drilled out spot welds) then just a simple bracket to hold the catch, not very pretty but it works - just gets a little close to the intake on the engine. As I'm sure this is the same for the MK2 you should get your diagram uploaded to the knowledge base as I think others will find it useful.

If you still have the original Toyota plugs fitted (and not some weird and wacky set up using 2 relays like I did on mine), then just buy a adaptor cable (halfords), it will make life a lot easier and quicker, also helps if you ever have to change back.

Was there a silver layer in the oil / sump?

If so you killed off all the soft metal as suggested in the last post, in that case I would also be checking your crank for damage.
