Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
Hey Toxo, I am using the ST205 pump, however I'm not letting the ECU control it in the fashion it was designed. I've got it all hooked up so that if the ECU is swapped out for a MR2 one for whatever reason, the chargecooler pump will still continue to operate. If I ever want to sell the ECU, I can d...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
Gents, I've managed to get the power steering working quite nicely with the ST205 ECU. Run the usual relay in the ECU to stop the Code 54 Error from coming up. I then ran a second relay for the power steering (PSCT Wire) which used the ST205 pump operation as the trigger. Essentially this stops the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 Power steering ECU
I'm looking at doing the same thing. I.e trying to wire in a simple relay to turn the power steering pump 'on', only after the engine is started. Any idea's what ECU wire I could attach the relay to as a trigger wire? I'm trying to make it all concealed in the ECU case, hence I need a ECU wire for m...

Modding ST205 ECU to run power steering...help
Hey Guys, I've removed all error codes when using the ST205 ECU (Gen III equiv ECU). The only problem is the power steering doesn't work, due to the fact its not designed to run an electric steerng pump. I'm trying to mod it so it operates kind of like a MR2 ECU. I've found if I disconnect the PSCT ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
OK, I have new information to update you guys. I've finally solved the ELD (high electrical load) pin from always being 'on'. It turns out this is caused by 2 ECU pin on the Gen III. The ELD pin, which connects to the headlamps and defogger system, but also the ABV pin (look at ST205 ECU diagram as ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
See here: http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=157628 There was another post about it, which I can't seem to find. Bascially the Cooling fan (intercooler fan) on the Gen III is different from the Gen II. It accepts an extra pin from the cars ECU. This allows it to override the normal operation if r...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
Thats correct, 2 resistors and a relay to get rid of the Code 54 Error.
I've done it myself on the ST205 ECU I'm running.
Never had 1 problem since it was soldered in.
I'll see if I can pull up the diagram I used.
(Which has reference to the corretc resistor values)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
ELS is the Electrical Load Pin.
Tells the ECU when its under high electrica load.
Usually its triggered by the rear window demister
+ front headlights.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
interstingly enough, I've also found documentation to state that the Intercooler Fan ECU is also different in the Gen III. Where by one wire goes between that and the cars ECU to override the engine bay temp for switching on the fan. Gen I/II's don't have any integtration between the cooling fan ecu...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
OK, well i poked around with the ECU pins and tried putting them into different ECU slots according to the different ECU pinouts I've found. It looks like I definatley have it pinned correctly for the MR2, as when this ECU is plugged in (Powerfc) the power steering only comes on when the engine is r...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
Very interesting. I'm going to have a poke around tonight at the pins to see if I can get it working. I'll let you guys know what I manage to find out. I did have a read on the differences. Certainly is very interesting! It would be great to be able to get the ignition map so I can program the same ...

Re: Apexi Power FC - worth it?
Anyone happen to have a copy of their powerfc map
(fc-edit on datalogit) on a st205 CC
(Gen III Engine
+ components)?

interested to see how their maps differ from my own given levels of mods.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
Toxo, Very interesting read! Would you agree that a MR2 ECU is the same as a celica one in terms of how the power steeing is controlled from the ecu? I've noticed that when I run the ST205 ECU, I don't get any power assist, sometimes I get it for the first 10secs of turning the engine on after its s...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ST205 Chargecooler Installation Guide (non 56k friendly)
Hey Toxo, Did you find that when running the ST205 ECU you lost your power steering? I'm running the ST205 ECU on my MR2 at the moment with the chargecooler but I've lost my Power Steering. Curious to see if you've encountered the same issue... I've not run on it for very long, because I've not got...

Correct.
I re-pinned all of these pins.
They all seem to be working too.
