Re: Council run MOT for a tubby

I take mine to the local protyre where it's only £30 and they're very proficient, at a council place it'll be full price. VOSA have very strict regulations concerning mot testing, if a garage was discovered to be making up results and failing cars deliberately they'd be in serious trouble and would...

Council run MOT for a tubby

Been a long while that my tubby's been off the road. I now need to MOT it at was wondering if peeps have taken there tubby to a council run MOT centre. Logic being that they go no vested interest in passing it or failing it. Just a straight forward test. I been doing this with my last couple of cars...

[Mk2] [Generic] retrofitting electric folding mirrors

I got a gts turbo and wanted to fit folding mirrors. I got all the bits n pieces as mentioned in chrisw's write up in the kb. Went to do this today but found some extra wiring spliced on to my door loom. Any ideas what this is for? http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx307/Delgad-o/a7193c16-7374-4076...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] folding mirrors - quick check list

Adding folding mirrors to a JDM car: - Folding mirrors (obviously) - Drivers door window control unit - Retract control unit (black box) - Door looms from a JDM that had folding mirrors Can I just check - when you say door looms you mean the bit that is part of the door, has small bung that connect...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] folding mirrors - quick check list

Thanks. I saw that guide in the knowledge base. But just wondered if maybe on the newer revs the looms had whatever is missing for the foldy bit. Dash looms generally need to be replaced on UK cars but not UK cars for that mod I believe. Worth double checking that though. I believe that the door loo...

Re: Rev 5 turbo value?

£4.5K isn't a bad starting point to be honest. You never accept the first offer, so if you can get £5K you're doing very well. Argh, the mofos won't budge. Ah well I'll be moving on from those guys in due course. Just have to pray that no eejit drives into me (seems to me that peoples driving goes ...

Re: Rev 5 turbo value?

Ha! Yeh, 9k optimistic but fact is, how many rev5s are on the road in the UK? I quite like Supra mk4s so not gonna wade into that one! But I don't think there are many owners like me or cosmos that have a 1998/9 turbo. I doubt the owner list will get added too much anytime soon with current prices. ...

[Mk2] [Generic] How to check 'genuine' bodykits?

So I finally got enough chrimbo cash to treat the old girl. So a body kit is in order! Thinking Toms or Border. Read the stuff on IBK :pale: and a few others. Seems like the best ones still in production are Rogues stuff or of course waiting for the real deal. I'm gonna scout Fleabay and the for sal...

Parts id help

Hi, Erm, not sure if there is some sort of bible that has images and part numbers of everything on the MR2 (Rev3+). I'm trying to refresh my car and get it back to stock standard (which is involving a lot of cleaning!) I need to locate the following: http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx307/Delgad-o...
