[Mk2] [Generic] retrofitting electric folding mirrors

Post by Delgado-Go! »

I got a gts turbo and wanted to fit folding mirrors.

I got all the bits n pieces as mentioned in chrisw's write up in the kb.

Went to do this today but found some extra wiring spliced on to my door loom. Any ideas what this is for?

I'm guessing that aint from factory.

Sooooooo, it's probs best to leave that loom in place in case i F' up something by taking it out. Wondring if it's linked to my car alarm.

Anwayz, plan B is to just chop of the plugs (7wire) from my folding mirrors, chop out the 3wire ones that are there put the 7wire plugs in and add extra wires like what johnnyc does on his write up.

that should work right?

whilst i was also poking around i found these...

This last one is one the dash looks where a vent is. Some sort of temp guage?

What are they for?
