it's only a cm lower saddle height than the 3ton 3001le, but i guess 2.5tons is still plenty

It's not the saddle height that's the deciding factor, it's value for money, i can get the 2500le on ebay for

No nonsense, solid jack that will last for years and years..

thats the one that I have, I went through a stage where I was using my jacks a lot and broke tons of them, then got this one ands it up the job really well, think I got it with an offer with 2 free axles stands with it, only gripe with it is the weight if I need to transport it anywhere else to use it
