Re: Exhaust differences

Finally a reply! :D So you would reckon that the different length of the cat is accounted for from the front section of the exhaust being different?

Re: mk2 rev3 n/a MOT failure on emissions

Mine failed almost identically - too high CO levels (0.871% in my case). Like you been told it is probably the cat at fault. Am hoping if i replace it then i will get a pass. I know it is likely something else at fault but without total guesswork then i would not know where to start and dont want to...

Re: Exhaust differences

Why is it seemingly impossible to find a new pattern back box for a rev 2> MKII? Can find one for Mk1, can find one for Rev1, plenty for Mk3's. Ok i can find stainless /performance alternatives but when the whole car is worth a grand tops then i will be damned if i am gonna spend £300+ on one sectio...

Exhaust differences

I was wondering if some knowledgeable sort could breifly tell me the difference/similarity between revs/years MK2 N/A exhaust systems. I need to replace my CAT and i have a feeling that when i go to remove it from the back box they will be forever rusted together so will actually need to replace bot...

Re: [All] [Generic] Fumoto Oil Drain Valve

How much time will this actually save you? 20-30 secs?? versus Potential for valve to leak/seize/ get knocked open by a wayward stone/speed bump etc.

Junk.

2 MK2's in Aberdeen

Was driving home from work yesterday about 5 o'clock thinking to myself i don't recall seeing any other MR2's on the road since i bought mine when i spotted a black one going round Bridge of Dee roundabout. Followed it up Anderson drive until i pulled off at Kings Gate roundabout. Then after stoppin...

Re: Swapping out power steering rack

Ah well, i have a few of those knocking around so will replace them if i have the right size otherwise i'll just crush them more than were crushed already and all should be dandy! How long do you reckon the job should take start to finish? (Not allowing for smoke breaks, plastering up skin...

Cheers. Had a look through that already. Did you replace the O ring and washers or just bolt back up and hope for the best?

Swapping out power steering rack

Despite being reasonably competent with a socket set i have never had to do any work on steering before. Have to swap out my creaky rack. Have had a good search and doesn't seem too hard but if anyone who has done it before had any tips/shortcuts etc i would be interested in hearing them??

Dont know but i wouldnt chance it if it was me. If it was me then i would drive a couple of miles from my house, call the AA to say it was running like a bag of spanners so i wanted to be towed to my final destination :^o

Power steering racks

Will any MK2 with power steering have the same rack? Or are there differences between imports/revisions/turbo v n/a etc?

Cheers in advance :thumleft:

Re: Should I Buy This MR2?

Sorry for the highjack but kinda related - my '93 n/a started an annoying electical whining/crackling a couple of days back. Comes through the speakers even when the stereo is off! Is on more or less constantly although sometimes stops on tickover. After a search or 3 i found this could be related t...

Re: Mr Engine Nipponautospares Reviews HELP

Bought an RB20DET from them once. Didn't need to fit it in the end and sold it on as untested a few months later. The lad that bought it from me fitted it and then found out was badly down on one cylinder. Spend a few extra quid and get one from a trusted UK company or get yours fixed would be my ad...

Re: Just driven it in the snow

Yeah, been coming down off and on most of the day. Just managed to scare my fiancee on the way to her sisters too  Have watched the drift bible a few times before and he does ay that it takes much more skill to balance the mr2 over the likes of a hachi or sx. Is definately going to take some mo...

Just driven it in the snow

Not great for this weather is it??? Managed two full lock drifts at very low speed on the way to work this morning 8) Have had a few other rear wheel drives before, last one being an R32 GTST. It was horrific in the snow and ice too but different. Where as the Skyline just wouldn't go up a slight in...
