Mr Engine Nipponautospares Reviews HELP

Post by Zeppozen »

There seems to be a huge amount of negative reviews about these companies.

But I was interested if anyone had ever recieved a fully working good engine from these people.

Are the reconditioned ones to be trusted ?

Many thanks

The huge amount of negative reviews should give you some kind of indication of the people you'd be dealing with and the quality of product/service they supply.

I have never heard a good word said about them, and the fact they trade under so many psuedonyms speaks volumes IMO.

No

You cant recondition an engine and sell it for a commercial proffit for what they sell them for. I would buy 2nd hand rather than trust one of these companies :eye:

Bought an RB20DET from them once. Didn't need to fit it in the end and sold it on as untested a few months later. The lad that bought it from me fitted it and then found out was badly down on one cylinder. Spend a few extra quid and get one from a trusted UK company or get yours fixed would be my advice.

I live in Derby where Nipponauto is based. Ive had a few small bits from them but from looking round at the general place and competence of removing parts I certainly wouldnt purchase anything like an engine from them. :pale:

Thanks to everyone who posted.

It seems that MRENGINE have vanished. Not answering phones , website pulled.
Rumors that that have gone bust.

Warning to all. They are associated with SMRENGINES, Nipponautospares, prestige partz, and many more.

Hi,

Paid £400 for an engine from these guys, and it never came!
Website down and no answer from their phones!!

They already have 3 outstanding County Court Injunction against them!
What are the chances of ever seeing my money again??

It is something I was really considering buying but after looking into the comments around the web I have decided to stay away from them and get my unit reconditioned locally :)

Im not prepared to take the risk [-X

How did you pay? You may be able to get your bank or credit card company to issue a chargeback to reclaim your money automatically.

I hate to think of it. They caused me over a year of hell and thousands of pounds. Wreckless people, supplied and fitted my engine.... then the story goes on into a whirlwind of hell they put me through. They ruined my car, ruined my karma and led me getting into huge debt repairing it. Theres **** all you can do to reclaim the damages.

There's an engine up for sale (E-Bay link) from nipponautospares which has appeared on the celica forum and I posted up to be very weary -I really don't want celica guys to get caught out like MR2 guys have been, but I was asked for proof over my statement (I thought yahoo was good enough) that it was all a group of "companies" and well known for problems. I'm so confused now -some people on other forums have looked into this in great detail (I guess through company's house) and it seems to be essentially the same person and the history that's posted up is just appaling.

...I am right in thinking that nipponautospares, mrengines and smr are essentially the same or use the same contacts for parts.. There's also something like 3 other pseudonyms they use, something like ...cars, or ...trade centre as well?

Yes I believe that they are all interconnected, one supplies another who supplies another etc.

They will operate as independant but they are all tarred with the same brush. Nipponautospares have a reputation as well. Thier tech knowledge etc is very poor, delivery is poor ( the courier companies they use are sick of them and are aware they NAS just bull$h1t customers on delivery times)

Mr Engine update

Post by ianc »

Mr Engine now trading as Ideal engines.

www.idealengines.co.uk

Same address but different contact info.

SMR, Nipponautospares, Prestige Partz, Mr Engine, Ideal Engines

Anyone want to join me in taking them out (I mean legally ofcourse!!!!)?

These c**ksuckers are loooong overdue.

Just in case anyone is considering buying anything off them DON'T.
They are into me for 1500.00 so far and I have to scrap the lump so I'm looking at another 1500.00. My missus has been giving me major grief. Times are tough enough without being fleeced by pr**ks like this lot.

Absolute scum.

Lol thats why I only goto/ buy from the affiliates on here, it saves money in the long run.

For some things in particular, clutch, cambelt, downpipe etc they will save you money in the short term :thumleft:
