Re: £3250 Rare and very original MK1 SC Super Edition

Can't believe you are letting it go at that price Lauren, its a truely lovely car and a very very good price for it too, with it being a Super Edition. If I hadn't litterally just kicked off getting my white over grey hardtop one repainted I would be sorely tempted. Come on Toni whats one more, you ...

Re: Brake options

In hundreds of trackday miles in my MK1 ScC and 2 seasons in the mr2 challenge I never suffered from fade using stock discs and calipers. I just used expensive Porterfield race pads and some specials that Chris Wilson had made. Chris' pads were best but the Porterfields weren't far behind. I also ra...

Re: Roll Centre Adjuster Blocks....

Yes they are worth fitting Jon, the front and rear suspension really aren't that different in design and both suffer badly from bump steer when you lower the vehicle. I had Nams ones on my old SC and they were 25mm front 20mm rear from memory. They are in the garage so i could measure them if requir...

Re: Roll Centre Adjuster Blocks....

Yes T3 definately do still make them, i spoke to Gabe yesterday about a big brake kit for my AE86 and mentioned it. Am back from China, off to the US in a few weeks though for some testing. Have now sold the Mk1 Challenge car too so can repaint my SC Hardtop and get it out on the road and maybe a fe...

Re: Roll Centre Adjuster Blocks....

Technotoytuning sell these as far as i know in the US.

Bare in mind you'll need 15" wheels to fit them though, I tried on 14's and the rears at least meant i couldn't get the rim on.

Gaz Shocks

Gaz shocks are made just round the corner from mine. David Lions used to be the technical guy at Leda when they were on Burnt Mills Ind Estate, across the road from where Gaz are now. They've just done some custom ones for my AE86 which i'm very happy with price wise. Asked about some for a mk1 myse...

I've run one and would go Throttle bodies to be honest.

I've owned a carb'd race mk1 which used twin Dellorto 45's - Lauren drove it when it was owned by its previous owner, the stiff throttle was due to the p1$$ poor cable and linkage setup that was made out of bits of scrap metal, it was much better with a decent twin pull linkage. It had a Raw Trac pa...

Re: please help a sc owner

My bet is on the knock sensor, it will definately throw codes and put the engine MIL light on without it. There aren't many connectors round there for it to be to be honest.

Part number for MK1 SC AFM?

Does anyone know if the AFM from say a mk2 Turbo is the same as the one on the mk1 supercharger?

If not could someone let me have the part number and an idea on wether a US spec one would be the same as the Jap Spec one.

thanks

The 99 Octane super unleaded that Tesco are selling made by Green Energy is also a 5% Bio Ethanol mix.

Wish we could get V Power in the UK, but the Tesco stuff works for my in the Skyline and the MR2 appears to run ok on it to.

Re: Anybody running a MK1 NA with enigine mods?

The car I bought from David Hawkes (ex Granville Williams race car etc), had a Raw engineering trac pack 2 engine fitted, which involved some headwork, 288 inlet 272 exhaust cams with 8.8mm of lift a CR rise to 11:1 and twin dellorto 45's gave 169bhp. It was a fully lightenend and balanced engine so...

Re: Wanted crashed MK1 Supercharger or one with blown engine etc

cheap as possible as all i'll do is tear the powertrain out and fit it into my race car anyway. I want a rear cut to ensure i get the lot, rather than having to ar$e around finding bits like engine lids etc.

Mail me if you can help.

Wanted crashed MK1 Supercharger or one with blown engine etc

If anyone knows of a mk1 supercharger which has been crashed or has a blown engine etc can they get in touch with me please.

[email protected]

I need the installation parts for a project I'm working on. Manual preferably but an auto would do.

Re: MR2 Challenge Regs

4 point is fine, although 5/6 is recommended. They must however be 3" belts not the 2" versions. Seats have to be proper ones too although the date requirement is only for FIA sanctioned events so unless you are doing the BTCC a used one off ebay or one of the race car websites will be fin...

Re: Blacktop 20valve or GZE in my race car?

http://www.japaneseengines.co.uk/ These guys sell engines for sensible money I got a DLI AE92 GZE for the AE86 with everything except the ECU for around 750. Thats a fair bit cheaper than the 1350 +vat that fensport charge, there's may well have an uncut loom though which is a real pain in the ar$e ...

Re: Blacktop 20valve or GZE in my race car?

I happen to know someone with a blacktop, ecu, wiring etc sat in his garage with nothing to do, as I talked him into going GZE instead for his roadcar. That aside, i also know a guy in malaysia who can get engines for sensible money and the UK source for the fensport ones which is a lot more reasona...

Is the alternator plug and play between the GZE and GE then, I thought the GZE's had a different alternator?

Re: Blacktop 20valve or GZE in my race car?

Yes Steve's car is running a big pulley, although the intercooler cooling setup is 100% the reverse of what the Toyota engineers designed, hence it gets too hot retards and doesn't go anywhere as well as it should do. You are allowed all 4AG family engines as long as they are production engines and ...
