N/A S/C differences

Post by LeeHoochie »

Are there any difference with the below parts between the Mk1b and S/C

Distributor
Starter Motor
Steering Column
Brake Calipers

Im taking the above parts off my mk1b restoring them then fitting to my S/C.

Also is the exhaust manifold Gasket the same for the S/C as the N/A as i think mine has started to blow.

Is the alternator plug and play between the GZE and GE then, I thought the GZE's had a different alternator?

Not sure about the alternator itself, but the bracketry is totally different, being on the other side of the engine. And it's different again on the Levin version of the 4-AGZE....

whats a MK1b?

if it's a standard aw11 4age then the distributor, alternator and starter motor are different to that of a 4agze.

MK1a =85-end of 86
MK1b= 87 on

basically the a and b designate pre-revision and post revision respectively.

Post 'facelift' Mk1 - from about mid '86 IIRC. main changes were the shape of the front bumper ( reinforcing bars aren't interchangeable ), airfilter in boot fed by trunking from sidescoop, new design sidescoop, teardrop alloys, bigger brakes, different heater controls, and advent of the T-bar version. Early 1bs still had blue top engine, but changed to red top after 9 - 12 months.
