Century Motorsport - Recommended!!
Just a quick one to say thanks to Nathan and John at CM. My clutch died big time (had been slipping for a while) and I needed the car back on the road ASAP. So even while in the States, Nathan co-ordinated everything, and John gave up a Sunday afternoon to get the box off and check if anything else ...

[Mk2] [Generic] Strange central locking problem
Hope someone could help me out here. When inside the car, the lock/unlock switch operates the locks fine as they should. If trying to UNLOCK from either door, it unlocks both. If trying to LOCK from either, it only operates that particular lock. There have been a couple of times where it's decided t...

Re: [All] [Generic] flexi wipers anyone tryed them? any reviews on them?
After owning my '2 for a few months now, I believe the problem lies with the fitment type, and not the wiper - either with or without spoiler - type. Many times the little pin on mine has worked its way slightly loose which causes the juddering. If I push it back they are judder free for a few wipes...

[Mk2] [Generic] Changing tyre size - fronts
Just a quickie.

Running standard 15" alloys, with tyre size 195/55 15"

Would it make a difference to use 195/50??

I only ask, as the tyres are about
£10 cheaper!!

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Pre cut window tints..where from?
lot easier to buy a sheet and do it yourself mate.

Pre-cut never works as you always need extra to cover yourself for any slip ups

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] electric shock from door!!
Its callled static electricity. Although its not actually electricity, its just a charge that builds up on the body of the vehicle. Try wearing different shoes and see if it still does it....sounds mad I know, but the reason you get shocked is because you are "earthed" in some way so the c...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] PS2 Installed
Just one thing.....you realise that an inverter is quite an inefficient way of doing this?! The slim line PS2's run off 12V, and you can get for less than a tenner an in car regulator that replaces the mains regulator. This will do away with the inverter and will give a much cleaner voltage, along w...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Electric Aerial wire
You were half right, or three quarters.
Anyway, the colours you mentioned were correct, although they are both
+12v and both have to be live for the aerial to raise, if either goes to 0v the aerial retracts.

Seems pointless but there must be a reason!

[Mk2] [NA] Electric Aerial wire
Hey guys,

The previous owner made a complete botch job of the stereo wiring which I am trying to sort out.

The only thing I have left to find is which colour wire activates the electric aerial to go up.
.
.the one which I believe connects onto the blue of the ISO connector.

Any help appreciated

Adam

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] number plate
hmmm, doesn seem a bit harsh. The law states that your number plate has to be fixed to the front of the vehicle. Which yours is. The only thing I can see wrong with it is the angle is VERY steep compared to some, and possibly not be able to be read from straight on (ie, police car driving towards yo...

Does anyone know where I could get such a thing, or if one exists?!

The sort of thing tha clips onto the sides of the engine lid and I could tie extra bags down onto if needed.
