Re: Anyone seen my old 2?
He was someone i got to know over about 6 months while i was living in coventry. seemed like a nice guy. i know he wasn't planning to screw me over. if he was, it was very elaborate involving 6 months of planning including 2 runs to wales with this club and a couple of meetings at our place. he was ...

Re: Window Clunking - Solution... NOT!
i went through all the same steps as you this summer, except i stripped 2 screws. wasn't easy getting a dremel in there to grind off the screw heads.... i shoved my digital camera between the doorskins and started shooting. what i think i saw, was that the next gear from the motor is actually the sp...

Re: Fan switch or Resistor pack ...?
could
these
work?

they're rated for 10 Watts, and can handle 5 or 10 times the rated power for 5 seconds.
the highest draw is during startup, right? maybe they'd be ok for what you
(and I) need.

don't see any close to 1.23 ohms, though.

Re: High Mileage cars ?
refilled again today, 8.45 litres to 81 miles. assuming 4.68 l/gallon, that's about 45 mpg again. being the ignorant canadian, you are using UK gallons, right? this is about 37 mpg(US). might explain my high numbers. i'm absolutely sure of the litre measurement this time. i couldn't possibly fit any...

Re: High Mileage cars ?
this was purely motorway driving, 70 miles a day, trying as hard as i could to keep that TVIS closed, and start moving from stoplights as if i was in our 1.5l 4 door automatic Civic saloon (read: very slowly). i think i opened the TVIS this morning once or twice, but i'll see what kind of mileage i ...

Re: High Mileage cars ?
so it's not running anymore, then, is it? Mine's about to pass 184 000 miles and running great. actually i tried to gauge the mileage i could get out of petrol if i drive gently. on this last tank, i went 316 miles before refilling, and i could only fit 31.31 litres in the tank. this works out to ab...

I have an official Toyota
'Twin Cam 16' sticker that i was given with my car.

i don't need it.
if you're buying stickers individually from Mr T, i can save you a pound or two on this one.

the day before the previous run
(in may) my girlfriend and i went to tesco, and paid
£40 for a tent, 2 sleeping bags, and 2 mats.
not a bad deal.
tent's a decent size, too.

apparently it reduces the current that's going through the dizzy, making it last longer.

also makes the power going to the plugs more consisten/stronger.

I missed them! i did see 3 mk2s down at arnage on sunday morning.
there was also a red mk2 and a red mk1
(C-reg with late body kit/early interior) camped in beausejour.
unfortunately I was cruising around in the boot of a red land rover discovery.

did you check inside the wheel arches for rust? the rust on my arches is just starting to show on the outside, but that means it's come all the way through from the inside.

Re: Cost of Shot Blasting Alloys
i did use stripper, but the corrosion has still pitted the wheels pretty badly. i started sanding after the stripper but i'm having trouble getting into some of the corners and they just don't look as good as i'd like them to look before i start priming/painting/lacquering... so i thought i'd find a...

Cost of Shot Blasting Alloys
Started refurbishing, but i don't think i'll get the results i want by hand.

anyone know the cost
(ballpark figures) of having wheels shotblasted? i'll do the painting myself, but i can't sand the wheels as much as i'd like.

can anyone recommend a place to do it in the midlands?
