I ue Radtec, which has apparently been rate at a little over 500bhp, but I can't confirm this as I see quite high temps and I'm running half that power.

it does say in the text that it supports over 600bhp.

has anyone used 1? I had an xs power turbo which was only good for a paper weight, but I think thier intercoolers have good reviews

What are you planning to do to push past 600bhp (just out of interest)?

im currently @ 400, on 800cc injectors, 205 cooler and standard head and cams,
when, I sort all of those out, I expect to see 500-550, so a cooler that can cope with 600 should do the job

Hi,
We've been thru this.
Do you have a Front Mount cinquechento (?) rad or similar?
And an EWP?

a little bit confused by the
'We've been thru this' comment', (if it was aimed at me) but anyhow
Yes, I do currently have the cinque rad and pump as I've been running the 205 cooler for the last 5 years, now i just need to get a better flowing core
cheers

I very rarely come on here these days. It makes me laugh to find people still asking the same old questions from 4 yes ago..... Use the search function people. Myself and the old school lot really have been there and done that when it comes to tuning the 2. You'll save shed loads of cash time and effort if you look at some of the older posts.

Not wanting to be rude mike, but when you and the old school lot were doing this what were the options for charge cooling. There are more cores available now than were probably around a few years ago, due to people selling some good and bad products on ebay and the like. So it is a bit of a minefield. And bear in mind some people have differing budgets so aren't able to just go and buy the big name product that is proven to do the job.

And with regard to the search function, it doesn't always throw up what your trying to find in my experience, so unfortunately some thing seem to get repeated by newer members.

With Charge coolers, how important is the size/efficiency of the pre-rad? Is it more down to the core design/location?

I only ask because I see fairly high intake temps with my Radtec and am considering (when I rebuild the engine) swapping the poxy little Cinq rad for a bigger, high efficiency alloy thing and removing the air con rad for better flow.

Will that help or is the problem the location of the CC core?

I also thought that one of the plus points of the ST185/205 CC's was the shorter 'airway' between the turbo and the TB creates a more responsive engine.

How does this theory translate when talking BMIC? Surely a BMIC increases the length of the airway between the turbo and the TB, does this reduce the responsiveness of the engine?

Apologies if this was covered in some other thread somewhere, but if it was, I missed it - despite being a member since the old board days.....

This place would be pretty quiet if the search function was better.......

From what i've read a quality pre rad will make any system work much better. The alloy rads are the best option but obviously are more costly.
