:( Ok Anna, completely understand. Just a real shame because I know you and Alex love the 750mc stuff.

Won't push it any more, but if you change your mind, here's a plan. Jo and I were already going up together to save fuel costs. If you and Alex want to come I reckon your route will pass close to my house. So we could all go up in the Focus and I'd pay you half the fuel.

Just a thought....

PS You're still coming to Anglesey aren't you?

Rowland, help me out here, surely there are more MR2s racing than I've posted aren't there :? ? I mean how many were damaged beyond repair at Silverstone? There were 20 at Mallory, I think we are down to 10 for Cadwell, what's happened?

Hey Tom,

To the best of my knowledge those that were damaged as Silverstone have been repaired since most of them belonged to Stephen Vince who runs the series.
I know for definite he has his SC running again and I'm sure he's bust a gut to get the rest ready for the forthcoming double header this weekend otherwise he’d be certain to lose out financially.

As for numbers this weekend I'm not 100% sure. Looking at the list below I make it about 20 that took part at the latest race at Silverstone.
In light of the carnage I'm confident that most of the MR2's will have been fixed over the last few weeks.
Add to that list the 2nd mk2 MR2 Roguesystems car to be driven by Paul Port and I'm hoping to see a good turnout - fingers crossed!!

We'll see I guess!

We're going, got stuff to sort out with the 750f bods anyway. I'll get Anna to give you a ring tomorrow, and we'll sort something out.

Accomodation is all booked up, will have to wait for the end of the month for the rest..

Hello. I noticed that you guys are local to me - can anyone help out or know someone with a front bumper iron insert for Mk1 so that I can get my race car back out racing (got bent at Brands).

Cheers

Alan, I'm sorry but these things seem to rust really well on these cars. I wish you best of luck, but it may be off to Mr T to get a new one.

(Hang on, I think Toni has one. I think it may still be attached to a car though. PM "tonigmr2")

:D Alex / Anna, that's great news! :D (You've both got PM's by the way)

Ok, if anyone if interested in joining us last minute, here's some more info...(For all the info see http://www.750mc.co.uk/ and click the "more" button on the "Next Race Cadwell Park" icon on the left hand side)

Final Instructions

Entry is £10 per person (that right Anna/Alex :? )

Practice for the MR2s start at 09.00am

The first race for the MR2s starts at 1.10pm

The second race is due to start at 4.25pm (may well be earlier)

Weather forecast for tomorrow is cloudy but with sunny spells :D

Since there won't be many MR2's (watching that is) I think a better meeting point would be near to the Red Dragon Automotive gazebo in the pits. Let's say 10am and 12.30pm.

The entry list was printed a while ago. There were 10 Mr2s on it. If Rowland is right there will be at least 15 MR2's racing.

Just to reiterate Tom's point on race start times.
It has been known on several occasions that 'Roadsports' has been brought forward or delayed for up to an hour.
Suffice to say that the times are definitely not 'set in stone' as it were and particular attention needs to be paid to the ongoing announcements.

Just thought I'd make that point simply because in the past I know some MR2 enthusiasts have come along to spectate 10 minutes before race time, only to find that they've sadly missed the race.

Should be good - though an exact MR2 count won't be known until the day I feel.

You're not wrong there Rowland!

At Mallory I posted the race times and some poor bu88er turned up just to watch the 2nd race. Unfortunately they bought the race forward by an hour or two and as he was entering the circuit the chequered flag was going out!

What time are you getting there?

PS Are Roquesport going to look after us  hospitality wise :D (Only joking Rowland! )

Yes, I think that was Nigel Denny aka 'Nige' - felt quite sorry for him.

Was a good days racing in the end - on the full circuit.

What can I say about Sarah Wherrys car - I was right about Jedi bearding skills - her mechanic chopped the front of the car off (as far back as the rear edge of the wheel well) and welded the front off a mk1a on in it's place, absolutley amazing job. I think he chopped it using his light sabre, but he claims it was a plasma cutter.

Watched the first Roadsports from around the Gooseneck, couple of spinners on the entry, and a couple into Park. George broke his cambelt, and DNFed the first race - it also knackered the engine for the second race. Patrick seemed to have an interesting first race, and Mr Port managed to get tagged by the TVR as it was coming up to lap him.

Second race was a bit more interesting. I was watching from up on charlies (you can see all the way across to the other side of Park, gooseneck, mansfield etc). There was a really good 4 way tussel between the leading mk1s, Patrick and Lee McNamara in a porsche. Eventually it was settled going into Park as the Porsche moved out to outbrake the leading mk1, and Patrick moved out to overtake the 2nd mk1. The porsche managed to squeeze through, but (and this did look a bit like amateur night) the second (white) mk1 pushed Patrick all the way to the right, ending up with him on the outside of Park, on the grass. The white mk1 eventually overtook the blue/red/duck taped up mk1 into Mansfield.

In case anybody cares, the Noble easily won both races, and in the second race, there must have been 4 non-mr2 runners (Noble, TVR, Avanti & Ginetta)..

Hope Tom and Jo enjoyed their day out at the races, and thanks to both of them for the Chinese food :)

:D Huge thanks to Alex and Anna for picking Jo and myself up and saving us a load of cash!

Really enjoyed the racing, it's really competitive stuff!

I hope next year we can organise a really big Mk1 Club / IMOC meet like we had at Mallory. Cadwell is a bit out of the way and I'm not really that surprised that we didn't get many people there. But then again there's so many MR2s in the pits I never even managed to get round to talk to everyone in any case.

:D Hi Sarah,

Welcome to the IMOC forum by the way!

I wish some more of your fellow racers would join (Patrick's here already). Hopefully we could generate a bit more interest and get a few more people along.

Really enjoyed the second race. You had a great scrap with Peter Scratchard. And I really like your Mansell-esque overtaking manoeuvres! :D

So you know who we are on this forum, here's a pic. I was the bloke with the grey hair :clown: , here's the others from left to right obviously
