MR2 CHALLENGE RACING - CADWELL PARK - 24th SEPTEMBER

Post by Icsunonove »

MR2 MK1 Challenge 2005
Cadwell Park, Louth, Lincolnshire 24th September

After the last fantastic round at Mallory Park, here we go again! 23 cars turned up at Mallory :thumleft: , here's a pic:

Image

But this time it’s gonna be even better!
This is a two day meeting so anyone wanting to make a proper weekend of it can camp / b&b it on the Saturday night and have a few beers (I can't - at Santa Pod on Sunday). I understand the MR2 racing is all on the Saturday.

Cadwell Park is arquably the best club racing circuit in the country (don’t bother arquing with me, unless you are talking Brands GP, not the mickey mouse circuit). I’ve done a few trackdays there and it’s simply brilliant as a drivers circuit! And as for spectating, it’s even better! Just look at this fantastic circuit!

Depending on the uptake, further announcements will be made.

So who's up for this one then? Add your names please...

Cadwell 24th Attendees

Bump! It's Cadwell this weekend, is no-one interested?

Cadwell 24th Attendees

Me, myself and I - Driving from Derby - Saturday only

Can't confirm how many cars will be out though. There was carnage at the last round at Silverstone. I'll give Red Dragon a call and find out..

Go to page 2 of the PDF, you'll see Roadsports - all the mr2s are in the Roadsport category.

e.g. I see Sarah Wherry is down, she must have Jedi like bearding skills to get the car ready in time, after what happened to it at Silverstone. Paul Port is also on the list, so there will be a couple of mk2s running - could be very interesting!

I can't no, Lauren probably could.

For a start, they are all class B. The ones I recognise at first sight :

Sarah Wherry
Patrick Mortell
Paul Port
Matt Jenkins
George Taylor

possibly Lee McNamara - if thats the guy with the Silver one, he'll give George a good run for his money!

There should be some late entries on the day, who aren't on the list.

 How the hell has Sarah Wherry got that car back on the road? From the pictures I'd seen it looked like a total write off to me! (Or has she got a spare chassis? :? )

Alex, are you and Anna coming?

And Jo, you didn't sound very keen, I'm really glad you've decided to come! :D

Looked like a write off to me as well - even if it could be 'repaired', I wouldn't want another front-end shunt in that car! I hope she's got another shell and re-shelled everything.

If we are coming, it won't be in the '2.

Why not, what's up?

I may not be in the MR2 either by the way (not that it matters a fig)...

(PS Go back on the other forum, I wasn't calling your car a nail, far from it, in fact completely the opposite, I think its superb, you completely misunderstood, see my reply :D )

The SC is just overfuelling too much - it'll cost too much money to get it there and back when there is a nice frugal diesel instead.

No, I know you weren't, I just wanted to point out to TG that it's not, thats all :D

Snap! That's exactly why I might not take mine (and the reason I did "Run to the Lakes" in a different car). I'm getting about 20 mpg at the moment (on a good run  )

Wandering further OT, the overfuelling was Nobles solution to the pinking problem.. genius..

We'll get it remapped and sorted once the CC is installed.

:? Really can't understand why it's proving such a b1tch to set up :?

Can you bring the Omex data to Cadwell and we'll have a long beardy conversation about it? You are coming aren't you?

And by the way (I never told you this before - hope it doesn't make your head swell too much) but after Anna gave me a run at Elvington I emailed David to tell him what a superb job he had made on improving the SC. Probably not the most tactful thing to do though  , he really didn't want to sell it!

P.S What's this thread supposed to be about? :?

Team Rogue will be convoying up on Friday night. We've got scrutineering at 08:00 on Saturday so if we want to be anywhere near awake we need to stay somewhere local!

I hear a tent in the paddock is pretty local, having done it before, the best thing about it is the incredible view of the stars at night (on a clear night) - it is just a little bit cold out there though...
