Love this thread it's cracking :thumleft:
Awful lot of time effort and "found parts" going into it!

It's been a long time since I've seen tyres that shredded! Good effort! Lol

sooooo a friend of mine was a little skint the other month so i offered him a fair deal for his mr2 turbo that he races with us

Image

thought id put it straight back up for sale in the circles i run in and in no time was offered this for a swap as a non runner by (new member ) sketchmyster

Image

so as i have a few mr2's i thought this would be a good swap even as a non driver!

The celica is an st185 light weight wide body so its got manual windows and no sun roof, ideal for hillclimbs! as if it was made for the job.

Got it home and started work right away on it.

Very very pleased with it.

Anyone think the mods would object to its own build thread?

Seems like a cracking swap

I was actually looking at one of those Celica in a similar spec a while ago just so I had something else to play with. I'd be intrigued to hear how it drives and what you do to it

I think it would be rude not to start a new build thread for it
After all you don't want to clog up your MR2 build thread anyway :thumleft:

Nice little motor you've got there. :)

Coincidentally I've also just been offered one and I am tempted :-k

What is up with you lot?

4 wheel drive is for people that are unable to handle a proper rear wheel drive car, you are all getting too old.

Say it how you see it Bob

4WD is a definite safety net when running 400+bhp though.

Well we will see when I get my new engine fitted and if I do go for 1200HP I may just have to go 4 wheel drive, but that will only be for grip you understand, nothing to do with how easy 4 wheel drive is to drive.

You'll need 4WD AND magic underpants with 1200bhp!

Maybe I'll think differently about mine when the handling tweaks are finished. Getting the power down has always been the biggest obstacle.
