Can you see the posts in that link? How did you get the link to that?

the same way i would get a link to any thread i have posted in ?

Reason being is that, that post you linked to is in the dungeon, and shouldn't be visible to regular/premium members etc :-k

How about a straight swap for my car (no accident damage, full service history, lots spent on it) and £200 cash?
Selling up my highly modified and restored Rev 1 V6 3.0 1MZ-FE VVTi

Yup, it's standard DVLA mistake. My Cosmos Blue rev5 was registered green and had a colour change listed against it when it was re-registered as purple :thumleft:

I'd take his arm off, you're sitting with a Cat D write off, almost impossible to sell, unless someone doesn't HPI it.

Thankyou for clearing up the confusion regards colour when checked, we were somewhat bemused today because we could find zero evidence of any respray #-o

Anyway, we have made the desicion to report the garage to trading standards, although from what we understand it may have little impact to be honest.

So, the car will be listed on E Bay tomorrow

Ok, lets be clear regards the CAT D you are so fixated upon. This is not based on unrepairable or dangerous damage, but purely on an insurance company not willing to pay for repairs. My brother has gone over the car and can find nothing to indicate any major damage or repairs.

I know that some garages can quote some insurance companies exxcessive costs for resprays and minor repairs whuch result in cars getting a CAT D staus. we have experienced this in the past ourselves, having damaged the front bumper on an MR2 with vielside kit. The car was taken to the garage that the insurers stated and they quoted over £650 with vat :!: We setled for £500 from the insurance compoany and had the repairs done for just £180 a week later and no, it was not a poorly done job either.

So i think Mr Woods you are giving the CAT D a somewhat over excitable label in honesty. And at the end of the day, any buyer who views and checks this car out for themselves, will not be unhappy with how it looks nor how it drives and will pay what they feel it is worth to them :)

For the record, there are in excess of 308 "impossible to sell" CAT D cars for sale on E Bay at this moment

That was the only place we could find evidence of over spray on the car today

Can see why the garage sold for £850 now.

Although it you gunna use it till it's scrapped still a decent price and a nice car
I would have prob paid 850 even tho a CAT D

How much you after with the CAT D taken into consideration?

Car was £850 because it was sold as a px they had taken in and needed paintwork on the front bumper, sideskirts and had a couple of tiny bubble patches. all been done by a paintshop....

The price regardless of the CAT D

£2195 ono

Everyone really needs to stop shitting on this guys thread. He can advertise at any price he wants to, and is stating its a cat D, so taken care of the legal side of things.

End of the day, Kerry can list the car for whatever price he sees fit, and likewise any potential buyers can offer what they feel the car is worth, Cat D taken into account.

Anyway, good luck with the sale - I've sent the link to my friend who is currently looking for an MR2, I dont know what his position on the Cat D thing is though. If he is interested, I'll PM you to get contact details, have a chat about the car and arrange a viewing.

Corrected for you.

BTW, Cat D is normally worth 25% less.

.

Since you obviously failed to read this bit regards the HPI..

It was HPI'd when we bought it... as it was already in a garages possesion , taken as a PX.

Plus if you bothered too look the CAT D is highlighted in BOLD in the original post once it came to light. I have also taken the time to explain how we were unaware of that status.

But Peter, were your "deleted posts" that of a vigilant, conscientious trader as well :-k

So perhaps now everyone has had a say this thread can be left to those actually interested in the car for sale now, thankyou

It's the owners club and the members look out to make sure other members don't get a bad deal.

No one is against buying a car cheap and selling it on for a profit but most members on here will say something if they feel it apprpriate or in any potentail buyers interest.

Its a nice car and I've bought cat D's in the past. One thing is that as insurance companies know its had a total loss pay out they wont pay out again so if it were involved in an accident you would have a hard time proving to the insurance that you are due anything.

As said its worth roughtly 25% less and thas what I have paid for CatD's in the past so whats the going rate for a rev 5 like this non cat d? about 5k isnt it?

5k!!! If it is you can buy mine :thumleft:

But seriously, as KerryN says, its only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay. Now the details of the catD have come to light and are now properly listed on the sale post let him crack on! Glws matey!
