[Mk2] [Turbo] Bilstein Rear Topmount Sheared
Whilst changing my springs I've managed to shear the two flats within a rear topmount. Note the shiny slugs in the pic: http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s269/sw20-3sgte/topmount004.jpg These flats basically lock the strut into the topmount and prevent it from turning, without them its near impossi...

Ok.
Just spoke to Rogue and they also think 83W should be fine.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Tyre Load Rating - Eagle F1's
Ok so I need two new rear tyres and would really like some Goodyear Eagle F1's after hearing so many good things about them.
Unfortunately I can only seem to get them in 83W load rating, apparently this means they can only take around 450kg per tyre.
Will this be ok?

[Mk2] [Turbo] RevIII Turbo - Rear Fog Light?
Just failed my MOT for the lack of a rear fog light and tell tale.

Do Rev3 Turbos even have rear fogs by standard? My front
(steering
) fogs work fine BTW.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] M reg Tubby De-catted vs. MOT
Ok well cheers for the responses guys.
It seems the old MOT business isn't quite as rigid as I'd first thought.
I'll try my luck this afternoon and let you know the outcome.
Hopefully I won't have to spend all weekend on my back screwing the cat back home.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] M reg Tubby De-catted vs. MOT
I haven't got all the docs to hand but I've looked into this in the past and can recall that she was first registered before 31 July 1995 and therefore should NOT be running the Cat test. What confuses me is that the only difference between the above test limits is 0.1% CO :? Is this the difference ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] M reg Tubby De-catted vs. MOT
Ok so my tubbys going in for her first MOT since being de-catted and its making me nervous :| Shes a 95' M reg so, as far as I understand, she should be running the non-cat test as outlined directly below: Fast Idle (2500-3000rpm) CO<=0.3% HC<=200ppm Lambda= 0.97 to 1.03 However, looking at last yea...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stock Air box Vs. Aftermarket
Personally I'd prefer my turbo to be sucking in cold air from the side intake rather than hot, sooty air from the engine bay. Also, the standard scoops may be subtle but I imagine they do create a bit of air pressure at high speeds, thus creating the 'ram air' effect which will theoretically aid spo...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] had a bad crash last night...no more mr2
Sorry to hear about this. The roads round here have been much less grippy over the past few days, possibly something to do with the fog & sudden drops in temperature? I did a fair few miles in the crx last night to take a look at some delica star wagons, the amount of understeer I was getting wa...

Cheers for the heads up Rob.
I've just bought a set as these parts are due on my tubby.
It's a huge saving over UK prices, providing they turn up of course.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Fuel Light
Where abouts should the needle be when the warning light comes on? It's been off the bottom of the gauge in my turbo before and the light hasn't come on. Just wondering if its still working... Are there any quick tests other than the obvious one of driving till she dies of thirst? if you run it out ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Broken Window / Nothing Taken...
Left my tubby parked in a residential area in Peterborough this morning. Returned to her an hour or so ago to find the passenger side window smashed (curb side)... Nothing was on display but plenty of valuables sat in the glove box, however nothing was taken! Has this ever happened to anyone else? B...

Re: [All] [Generic] insurance cancelling - cost?
lol well it was only an example. I came across the clause when I bought my tubby. Admiral (my insurer at the time) wouldn't insure me on her so I asked about cancellation fees and was told they wouldn't apply in such a situation. 50 to 60% of your premium certainly sounds like a rip off to me. It'd ...

Re: [All] [Generic] insurance cancelling - cost?
The trick is to make them responsible for your cancellation.
i.e.
politely call up and ask for your insurance policy to be transferred over to the Ultima GTR you've just bought.
If they cant insure you on it, they cant penalise you for ending your policy early
