[Mk2] [Turbo] 3" Downpipe to replace CAT. MOT???

Post by Cliff »

If I was to remove the CAT on my 95 turbo, would it fail the MOT?

I know of a loophole - Does this apply to my Rev 3?

Some people will say p00 pie to the supposed loophole......

You really need a friendly MOT station to get you through a non cat test.....

TBH mate its worth just putting the car through decatted. Even decat tests still have emissions to meet which you can fail on. I have known people to put rev 4 turbos with a decat pipe through a cat test and pass.

If you feed the MOT station the "import" theory regarding cat tests to be done on 95+ cars then you may get away with it....But if your not certain you can look like a thorough tool

Worth asking about all yer mates if they have any good matey connections with MOT centres that will turn a blind eye...

i was thinking bout this but im ok cause the law of haveing a cat came just weeks after my car was out on the roads \:D/ 1992 btw.
any cars 92 0r below dont require a cat.
so as a question can you get away with this if its an import??

I fitted a xxxx downpipe with a nur spec. I have no problems with boosting. I only run std boost (rev3) It doesn't spike or creep.

Hope this helps.
