Re: Controlling the TVIS

Now I see our problem - You're on about a MAP sensor when I'm on about the fuel mapping. :P

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Hi all, new member with an old problem ECU ?

As was just said, you'll find that most MK2 MR2's are now at an age one the "bathtub lifing" graph where electrical connectors are due to be the major failing components. It is very unlikely to be the ECU but whatever you do don't go prodding round the ECU testing resistance because that w...

Re: Controlling the TVIS

where the argument is interesting however is whether or not the ECU recognises the removal of TVIS and then keeps to a correct fuel and spark map. KP There is no argument about that, how would the ECU know that the TVIS has been removed? The maps have nothing to do with the TVIS I don't know, that'...

Re: Controlling the TVIS

When it comes to high performance turbo and supercharged builds with the 4A-GE's pretty well everyone removes the TVIS system. It's a great idea but when it's a matter of boost then most people find it's too complex to set up correctly regarding the aforementioned issues around VE and the control sy...

Re: cutting out

What exactly do you do? Do you tap then release the throttle, the engine goes on over run, bogs down and cuts out? Can you tap it then let it drop and tap it again to brings revs back up? If so then you may want to check your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) as that can get knocked out of alignment wh...

Re: ST205 Chargecooler Pump

No, it is a sealed bleed valve. It will only blow if you cack the pump seal in or if you seriously overheat the engine and the pressure shoots it out.

All water pumps have them.

EDIT: Would help if I didn't post on 2 hours sleep - my bad!

Re: bloody car

Bummer - what caused the rad cap to blow off in the first place? Have you ever had overheating problems before with it? Just seems a little odd for it to blow a gasket, metal or not. :-k As for one step forward and two steps back, well I learned the hard way on student wage with a 22 year old coroll...

Re: New exhaust!!!

Some sexual looking welding there! Always wanted to know how to TIG weld. Hopefully C&G will let me start this year :D

What do they sound like anyway? I've found very few decent YouTube videos that weren't filmed on a calculator.
