bloody car

Post by 4ndee »

Every time I fix something something else breaks. Ok so on the way to work today I was driving up hill and I thought I saw smoke out the back. So got to a straight and put my footddown started boosting then starting splattering and went into limp. So I stopped and was pouring steam out the engine. Immediately thought argh cars on fire lol. So lifted the lid and the rad cap had blown off. Thinking I'm 5 mins from work I popped the cap on stupidly and drove up the hill. The gauge went from 78-109 so had to stop and called the boss to tow me in. At lunch put a litre of water in and went to block test it but had to get back to welding. So tomorrow will do some tests. :( looks like the h gasket s popped though although I can uprate it to metal.

Bummer - what caused the rad cap to blow off in the first place? Have you ever had overheating problems before with it? Just seems a little odd for it to blow a gasket, metal or not. :-k

As for one step forward and two steps back, well I learned the hard way on student wage with a 22 year old corolla
