Help

Car let me down today with the fault I previously described. I had to leave it in work and get a lift home. Anybody seen this fault before?

[Mk2] [NA] Sometimes problem starting

Tried looking through the various postings of starting problems on this site and others on the internet but I can't find one like this - Turn ign key and just the oil pressure and PS (power steering?) warning light comes on and the engine turns over but will not start. Also the power steering pump s...

Another sender unit - same fault

I still have the same problems as in my previous message shown above. Last week I found a MR2 in a local scrap yard so bought another sender unit. I have the exactly the same fault! - the gauge goes up to just under half a tank when the tank is full but starts dropping once the petrol in the t...

Thanks

Hi Allan, thanks for the reply. What I want to do is create a avi that displays graphically the music - similar to what Media Player shows when it plays music. If I use a screen capture program to record the screen while using Media Player, it can't grab the frame's fast enough to replay as a AVI fi...

[All] [Generic] MP3 to avi

I have got a 7" DVD player in my car. It can play DivX and MP3 files. Does anyone know of any software that play MP3 files and save them as avi files with visual effects added? For example, I'd like to play music in the car but have something like a spectrum anaylser running on the screen (i.e....

[Mk2] [Generic] White powder everwhere - help!!

Hi guys, could anyone help me with the following problem please - I'm seeing white powder around the battery but only when 2 surfaces meet. I have cleaned it off in the past using bicarb and painted it with afterwards with Hammerite. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h102/osborne0/MR2_2.jpg However ...

[Mk2] [Generic] Yet another centre locking problem - help

When I open the driver’s door and sit in the car, using the button on the driver’s door, the centre locking will lock but not unlock. If I put the ignition key is in the ignition and turn the ignition on then the door locks will lock and unlock using the button on the driver’s door. If I take the ig...

As well

I got the F16 one as well - bought it last year. I run a T-bar and the metal in the gear knob can get VERY hot when the car is left outside in summer. Due to that I would not recommend it to anyone, although I will agree it does look nice.

[Mk2] [Generic] Dashboard Kit

Has anyone bought and fitted any dashboard kits for the MR2? I'm talking about the stick on kits that you can find in ebay - e.g. mock wood, carbon, silver, etc. I bought a Laguna a few years back and it had a mock walnut dashboard kit already fitted to the dash and it looked stunning (I know it is ...

[Mk2] [NA] Fixed lights

I know this has probability been asked before but why has all the top sports cars now got fixed headlights? Years ago all the top cars had pop up headlights like the MR2.

Can anyone post up links to articles I can read on this please?

Thanks

Not a guard, it's a louvre!

Thanks for the TOMS info. Using that, I found that it's called a rear louvre with a part number of 75083-TSW02. Now I need to find out where I can buy one!

Similar

I have a similar problem except that's the passenger door and it wouldn't unlock. As yourself, the lock inside the car only moves a fraction of an inch, whereas the driver's one moves as normal. I took the central locking unit out of the car and found that a mechanical linkage had broken. The electr...

Module

Had similar problems in my car. I raced the problem to the mirror control module. If you take the lower dash that's over the driver's footwell off. Then take off the ventilation pipework (just 1 screw holds it). Then looking up behind the dash you will see either 2 or 3 control modules. Operate the ...

Re: Wiper Arm Upgrades

Hi, I not sure what you mean about the pin type. If it's any help - I bought my first MR2 a few months ago (a 1991 MR2 T-Bar G-Ltd) and it came with the blades screwed onto the arms (the standard for imports). I needed new blades so my local motor factor's sold me a conversion kt for about £3. With ...

Disks on ebay

I have been looking at discs on http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors The prices look very good (all 4 disks for around £70 - £80). Most of the sellers will not sell outside the USA or Canada but some will. You need to contact them and ask the cost of delivery. Can't vouch for the quality as I have not bou...

Cheap gauges

IF it's any help, I have just bought a couple of gauges off eBay. The number for one of the gauges is 290005372279. Gauges are black until you put power on them, then you can see the gauge. The gauge with postage came to around £20. This was the cheapest seller of this type of gauge I could fine. Ex...

[Mk2 ] Idea for creating room to mount extra gauges

I have seen photographs for installation of additonal gauges in the dash in various parts of the forums and all seem to either block up the centre vent or move the radio/heater controls to the glove box. How's this for an idea? As most single din radio/CD players come with a face off, mount just the...
