Post by stevek »

thanks for the reply but the motors in the mirrors are fine.just swopped mirrors, drivers door switch, mirror controller, from mine to my sons car(both cars are identical models and year rev one gt turbos)and it all works great, but on mine both sets do the same thing, the nearside mirror only folds in when you manually pull the offside one in,nearside mirror tilts left & right but won't tilt up and down.the offside tilts in all directions but won't fold in at all.any help appreciated best regards Steve.sorry about the long post.

You will need to check continuity in the wiring loom.

It sounds as if you have broken connections in the loom.

Had mine fitted to the rev 2 this week and all is fine m8 so i think you either got a damaged wire or a plug isnt in fully.

Check and switch the plugs in the drivers footwell behind the plastic trim (where the bonnet release is) and switch plugs and check otherwise switch the looms around and see if that is the problem

Module

Had similar problems in my car.
I raced the problem to the mirror control module. If you take the lower dash that's over the driver's footwell off. Then take off the ventilation pipework (just 1 screw holds it). Then looking up behind the dash you will see either 2 or 3 control modules. Operate the mirrors and you will hear or feel the mirror module operating (same one for both mirrors).
Take the unit off the car and open it up. A track on the printed circuit had broken on mine. I soldered across the break and that fixed it. If you can't see a problem I suggest swapping it with the unit from your son's car. You have already proved that the mirrors are OK, this will prove if the module is OK.

Thanks for the replys guys but have already tried the module(swopped the one from my sons)and visa versa and it made no difference.i have a few more jobs to do before i get the car on the road so when i do i will take it to a auto electrician to check out the wireing which i think probably is the problem.Regards Steve
