Re: mk1.5's

hi Ollie, thats great thanks for the info, reassuring to know the maintenance isn't going to be any more hassle, although i'm under no illusions this would be a 20+ year shell and running gear not far behind it.. i've seen your thread your 1.5 is a fine example, perfect in my eyes and i'm sure it go...

mk1.5's

Hello all, After some info on mk1.5’s! having seen some fine examples I would definitely consider trying a mk1 in the future, I have always been a mk2 man at heart but the retro styling and 3sgte combo in a light shell seems to tick all boxes! So hopefully the mk1.5 owners can answer my questions.. ...

Re: I've tried everything.....and now it's dead (CONCLUSION)

 dude thats absolutely shocking the luck you have with these cars after the fault finding you went through to try and resolve that issue.... i'd say go for your next one standard as possible then you'll have a better chance of not blowing up another engine ](*,) ](*,) Best of luck in the sear...

Re: UK v's JAP engines

probably so, though the previous owner stated he used normal unleaded for a while and the performance dropped, the only reason i'm asking is cause on a recent trip to R.O.I 95 octane was a bargin 79.9pl while 97 octane still remained 102.9 or there abouts :-k if the difference was with the ECU only ...

Re: UK v's JAP engines

not too sure about that, is the only difference in these engines the ECU?, e.g if the JDM ECU was installed along with the replacement engine and was mapped for the high octane fuel, if this was replaced with a UK spec ECU would the engine still perform as good if not better? (from reading specs pos...

Re: Whats the deal with golf TDI's???

over here in N.I nearly all the young pups are driving TDI's from 306's leaving chimney style trails of black smoke to sub 200bhp golf/toledo's etc. and torquey as they are in my experience the drivers have a strange notion they are all driving supercars! against my rev2 na the 130bhp or so models g...

Re: oh dear - smoke :-(

hmmm yeah my first thoughts were that i'd just let it turn over to burn the remaining oil off and took the car for 2 'spirited' runs  (car was driving as normal and no warning lights/changes in temp guage etc) to aid this but after the guts of an hour and a half i thought it would be all gone b...

Re: I've tried everything.....and now it's dead (CONCLUSION)

Ok I'm feeling a little more positive about it all this morning. I had almost decided that when I get the car sorted I was going to sell up and take out a loan to buy a used 350z but after speaking to an ex mr2 tubby owner who now has a Z I found out that the power will be a complete let down and i...
