hello folks, just a quick question regarding my replacement engine.

.

.

.

ok heres how it goes,

due to a big end bearing failure on my rev2 N.A i opted for a replacement motor as the crank shaft was in need of a reground and i wanted the car back on the road asap, a replacement rev2 motor was sourced by myself from a breakers and infomation given to the mechanic who picked it up

& 2 days later get a nice phone call telling me my car was ready

when i picked up the car the mechanic showed my all the bits he switched over from my damaged engine to the replacement e.g.

intake manifold exhaust manifold etc

and details of what he had to replumb yad-a-yad-a-yad-a and what i noticed was the intake manifold from the replacement engine didn't have any writing stamped on it

(rev3 perhaps?) so basically my question is.

.

.

is it possible to

have a rev3 motor built up with external rev2 parts or did some rev2 intake manifolds come with no writing stamped on them??

maybe my memory's playing tricks on me but the car doesn't feel as

'punchy' in 1st or 2nd but i think its slightly smoother at higher speeds

(60+ mph) and my mpg seems to have increased slightly maintaining my usual

(quite dull to be honest!) driving style, any ideas???

thanks,
Gary.
