Re: Tyres for standard teardrops

If you can find them Goodyear Eagle F1's are the best I've ever had on a mk1 but I think you've more chance of finding Shergar. (Who's probably in Tesco's!) My current recommendation is Vredestein Hi-Trac 2, almost as good and not too expensive. http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?detail...

Re: Starting issue

I've had that problem this year, especially after periods of heavy rain. So suspecting damp every time the problem has occurred I sprayed WD40 over my leads, distributer and coil pack and it starts every time. When the problem reoccurs I've tried spraying just one of the above and starting the engin...

Has anyone ever tried replacing the speaker/cone in a MK1a 'sub' as an alternative?

Re: Black mk1's

They are quite rare but I have one and I know someone else who has one in the North West. There are rarer colours around like a dark metallic red, a metallic blue/turquoise, and the two tone Sherwood which is metallic green over champagne. I've never seen any of these colours on the road but have se...

Yes, i do split kits - no problem. Excellent, we'll I'll be after some from you then please :) But I'll wait to my parts arrive tho before deciding what I'll need. Yep, 99.9% they're ProThane. Even better, may as well get the rest done in ProThane to match :thumleft: None whatsoever. Just make sure...

Re: Are Strut Bars and Control Arms same on MK1a and b?

As for cheap polybushes, a full chassis kit from ProThane is only £109.00 delivered. (Price increase last month). That includes front and rear strut bars to chassis, front and rear control arms to chassis, rear control arms to rear strut bars, and steering rack bushes. Thanks Peter, I might well be...
