Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost problem - boost seems to start coming on then drops off
Read some stuff online that suggests the internal workings of the AFM are quite delicate. Seems a second hand one should be somewhere in the region of £50 so I might try sourcing one and seeing if that sorts the problem and if it isn't that I can move it on again or keep as a spare.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost problem - boost seems to start coming on then drops off
Thanks, an AFM problem kinda stacks up as the car did this once or twice before then went away but seems to be getting gradually worse. Is a sticky AFM fixable or would I need to replace?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost problem - boost seems to start coming on then drops off
Yeah that was my first thought, I visually checked the pipes & connections on the pressurised side of the intake as best I could with out removing anything. I guess a split like that difficult to see by eye.
Anyone know the cheapest place to buy new boost pipes?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Boost problem - boost seems to start coming on then drops off
Hi All, Hoping for some help identifying a problem that my mr2 has developed. I will try to detail the problem as best I can. The car is an MR2 mk2 rev2 turbo, the last few times it has been used when I have put my foot down it has begun to pull and boost starts to rise as normal then as the boost c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 rev2 turbo fueling problem
I have solved the problem!
It was the ecu, I swapped a spark problem on my original ecu for a fuel problem on another so I got a third ecu fitted it and it started first time!
Thanks for all the advice and offers of help, time to have some fun again!

Re: Plymouth Area
No I don't think it did. My 2 has been off the road for 18 months, just got it running again last night so it'd be good to try and get a RR day sorted if people are still interested.

Re: Any meets near Bristol?
Hey, I'm down near Exeter and as far as I know there is nothing going on down this way either. It'd be good to meet some other owners, Bristol is to far for me to make it regularly but I could come occasionally.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 rev2 turbo fueling problem
Thanks djpkins, if I understand correctly I need to disconnect the cold start sensor then try to start the car and if it is this thats faulty it should start when disconnected. Would be awesome if you could come up and have a look Gavin but I am working this week and can't get time off unfortunately...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] amp to battery wiring question...
The only thing that needs to be between the battery and the amp on the live is a fuse a far as I'm aware.
I'm no expert though so someone else might know more.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 rev2 turbo fueling problem
Thankyou for the replys! I suspected blocked injectors but I don't really know alot about injectors. Some one has suggested I drain the fuel thats in the tank (its about 3-4 months old due to the car being sat), replace the fuel filter and put fresh fuel in with some injector cleaner. What is the in...

[Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 rev2 turbo fueling problem
I am having yet more problems with my mr2 :( I had an ignition problem (detailed in this thread http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=150806 ) which I resolved by replacing the ECU. There is now a new problem which seems to be that fuel is not getting to the engine. I took the car for a test ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car won't start - distributor seems to have intermitant spark
So the saga continues. I replaced the ECU and the car started! Left it ticking over until it was warm, all seemed fine, the idle was smooth and it warmed up to normal temp in the usual amount of time. I took it out for a test drive and approximately a mile down the road it cut out (after pulling awa...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car won't start - distributor seems to have intermitant spark
Thanks mate.
Just got a quote of £80 for a second hand ECU with a warranty! Not bad I thought.
Going to order it this weekend, I will update the thread (hopefully with some good news) once it's arrived and I've tried it.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car won't start - distributor seems to have intermitant spark
Thanks for the help!
We removed the distributor cap and visually inspected the pick ups and all looked ok. From what I've checked I was suspecting ECU as well, I will look into sourcing a replacement today.
Thanks again for all the advice.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car won't start - distributor seems to have intermitant spark
Yes coil and ignitor have been replaced. I was just working through the flow diagram as I have very little knowledge of how an ignition system works and thought it best to start at the start if that makes sense.
I am reading 12v at the coil but no spark from the king lead so no spark at plugs.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car won't start - distributor seems to have intermitant spark
Ok so I have now replaced the coil pack, the igniter and HT leads and it still won't start. Cam belt is fine as rotor arm is turning. I am really stuck, didn't show any error codes but didn't seem to be recognising the diagnostic ports ports were bridged, could this be a sign of what the problem mig...
