I had to take the buff to it to start off with but I got away with using'auto glym' paint restorer rather than using any cutting compounds.
It was practically whitey pink, especially on the roof and engine area.![]()

Try the paint restorer, then on with the auto glym radiant wax.![]()
Never ever take it through a car wash or even a sponge wash, the tfr they use will whip off all your polish.

Oh goodness me, a hot wash for 3 quid, must get the car cleaner.
Trust me it will remove any polish you have.
once the car has a good state of polish on it, seal it every couple of weeks at least with Autoglym liquid hard wax and you will be laughing.![]()

As valeter chappie says- the trick to a deep shine is never to hot wash and really don't use the shampoos either.
