I only use Autoglym / Meguiars stuff, just thought this might speed up the washing process, its actually had pretty decent reviews (what car etc), and I believe the tested it at the WRC.

I'm a valeter and one of my customers has a red mr2.

I had to take the buff to it to start off with but I got away with using 'auto glym' paint restorer rather than using any cutting compounds.

It was practically whitey pink, especially on the roof and engine area.

Try the paint restorer, then on with the auto glym radiant wax. Never ever take it through a car wash or even a sponge wash, the tfr they use will whip off all your polish. NEVER EVER go for a hot wash, <<< ludicrous idea.

There is no need for bloody hot water, completely baffles me, HOT CAR WASH £3.
Oh goodness me, a hot wash for 3 quid, must get the car cleaner.

Trust me it will remove any polish you have.

once the car has a good state of polish on it, seal it every couple of weeks at least with Autoglym liquid hard wax and you will be laughing. TRUST ME.

If you don't stay too far away from glasgow give me a shout, www.absolutvaleting.co.uk .....i'll sort out your mr2s

I'm sure that gritter drivers are ex F1 drivers that don't make the cut!, they must get commission for the more cars they can waste!

Personally I'd rather not touch sealant stuff. I just keep using autoglym super resin and auto glym shampoo. wax it over often as poss. and yes Im sad and spend saturday after noon 3-5:30pm

I was a bit intrigued and interested and might buy this...for my husbands Freelander, LOL (no way on the '2' or the GTR!!).

As valeter chappie says - the trick to a deep shine is never to hot wash and really don't use the shampoos either. I wash mine in warm water with polish in...really! Buff it up, looks amazing.

How do you mean you wash it with "polish" in the water. Am I just dense and missing something?

I got a good wee Autoglym book on taking care of your car - its got a lot of good tips in it, can't remember any off the top of my head though.

LOL I mean the polishing compound, whichever brand I'm using at the time. Normally that stuff in a blue container (can't remember its name) but I also use the autoglym.

I know the Mer polish recommends you add a cap full to the wash water but I'm now intrigued whether washing my car with just a water and AutoGlym Super Resin polish mix would have any decent effect?

polish? is that different to wax, seriously never get mixed up between autoglym polish and autoglym shampoo, you get one crap looking car wash and one scummy bucket!!! :D

Have you used one of those squeegee blades as opposed to to a chamois, they are pretty impressive!
