Thanks Ben Will hopefully take you up on the offer of the ride.

No problem, I'll be there in the Roadster now

Saw the mk1 at JAE on the friday, i thought she was a beautifull specimen.

LoL! :^o

Mechanically maybe ;)

I've reluctantly decided that I'm not going to be able to use it enough to warrant keeping it, so it is up for sale ( http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=104015 ) and looking for a good home now.

Food sounds like a fantastic idea. Just waiting to find out who i'm taking. The other half might need to get back, but have to give her first refusal.

No problem - the Black Tiles is usually very busy on Saturday night, and apparently they already have two big parties coming in. However, as we're there earlier in the evening we shouldn't have to wait too long. There's no problem increasing the table booking, but they would like to know final numbers by Thursday lunchtime.

OK, just finalising the booking for the table for Saturday after the trackday :

Table will be booked for 6.30pm for 8:

1. BenF
2. Jo
3. Garrick
4. vix
5. Phil
6. vix's mum
7. vix's dad
8. Jmachling (via pm)

Anyone else joining us?

We'll probably convoy from the track to the Black tiles, it is a fairly easy drive, and en-route for anyone taking the A14 back towards Cambridge or A12 down towards London.

OK, table for 8 now booked - They've warned me that the restaurant is getting quite full now so if anyone else wants to join us let me know ASAP - it all will depend on if they can squeeze in a few extra people.

Am really looking forward to this, first track day this year. The weather looks as though it might be ok as well.

Will be the first time I've driven the car on track with the new suspension, ST185 callipers, braided hoses and decent tyres that all went on over the winter. Should be fun :D

Maps are not very clear. On one it looks like it's just off the 1079. The other a bit further up and accross off the 1152, b1083.

I still use the old map method as no sat nav. :clown:

OK, some Local Knowledge around Fuel, and directions there if you've not been before:

Fuel :

Closest VPower is from a Shell Garage on the A12 at Woodbridge (Note this is ~8-10 miles from the circuit though) - I'll be topping up there before the trackday.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ie=UTF8&o ... 37851&z=15

Tesco 99RON
There is also a Tesco selling 99RON fuel at Martlesham Heath, which you'll go past if you're coming up on the A12.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ie=UTF8&o ... 14&iwloc=A

There is (ISTR) a BP in Woodbridge town itself for normal unleaded, but from the track it is more or less as far as the Shell.

Directions to the track :

From the A12, Northbound : Follow the A12 all the way to the A1152 - the road is a dual carriageway with a ~50mph limit ISTR and there's a big roundabout there, take the exit on the right to the A1152.

Follow the A1152 down the hill, straight on over the traffic lights, through the industrial estate and onwards over the level crossing. (~3miles)

You'll come to a roundabout, take the 2nd exit climbing up a hill, and at the top take the left fork.

RAF Woodbridge is the next on your left.

This looks to be the main road through the RAF base :

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en ... iwloc=addr

Anyone else get a load of car passes to get you past the main gates ? Quite surprised ... this means anyone wanting to come and spectate will potentially need one of these. I've got a couple spare, so if you PM me today I can drop them in the post tomorrow to be with you fro Friday.

Thanks, it'll be good to be on track with some MK1's :D

In addition to Bens' list, there's also a handy exhaust place at Spur End, just off the Wilford Bridge Rd in Melton (on the way back to Woodbridge). If, like me last time I was there, you need your exhaust and exhaust manifold reconnecting!

As for some reason I wasn't allowed out on track without an exhaust.... :clown:

LoL! One thing that came across when reading the notes they've sent out is that they're really stressing the need to keep noise down.

I know Bentwaters was closed down due to noise so I guess they're being very careful.

I wonder if they have to noise test the Apaches who practice there? :p

Thanks Ben.

I notice it opens at 8, but the safety briefing starts at 9.30.

What time are people looking at getting there?

I'm aiming to get there for 8.30 - 8.45 to allow me time to unload the car and get sorted out for the trackday itself as they're doing signing laps immediately after the safety briefing.

Forecast at the moment looks to be light rain on Saturday - TBH, not a problem as the surface is very grippy concrete, and there's the bonus of probably less tyre wear as well.

BTW, anyone coming from the SE interested in convoying up the A12 from Colchester?

Plan would be to meet at 7.15am at the BP services just before J29 of the A12, leaving at 7.30am

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr ... 05621&z=11

And drive up to the Circuit, stopping for Fuel at Martlesham / Woodbridge before getting to the circuit for 8.30am

Forecast now for Saturday is just cloud, no more rain, so more pleasant conditions to Spectate in.

If i'm there i'm there, and if not i'm not. :thumleft:

Ben, I've just signed for this too, didn't realise it was an IMOC day as well (although the huge number of MR2s on the list did semi point me in this direction on the off chance)!

Anyways, I'm happy to meet up with you at the services as well if you don't mind someone else tagging along, any chance I can pinch one of your car passes in case mine doesn't arrive in time?
