WTF do they pull away with the throttle pinned WO and keep it there until they have reached chicken chasing top speed?

Cos it sounds wikid innit! Maybe the screaming single cylinder under their butts gives them a cheap thrill. :pale:

The amount of times i've set off alarms is silly. Downpipe + Japspeed = fun in multistories  Poor AA men!

As has already been noted the fair way to do it would be to have a simple decibel limit. Why should somebody in their lambo/ferrari/tvr whatever be allowed to pollute more than me? If a cars noise is deemed antisocial what difference does it make if it's its standard noise or a modified one?
Just another rule made by people in non productive jobs thinking up ways to justify their own existence.

Because chances are, they gave the government rats a hell of a lot more tax money. They don't care in the slightest about been green, it's all about making money. They put up our home bills/rates but on fixed prices and tell us to use less. They make more and we skimp.

Yeah but this has nothing to do with being green. Surely noise pollution is just that regardless what makes it? Does this mean my ma with a Honda Jazz with an exhaust note like a mute mouse would fail her MOT if she put on an aftermarket exhaust twice as loud as the original but still way quieter than 85% of other cars?
Just goes to prove how little this (or most other potential) governments understand the frustrations of the public. Nor plain simple common sense.

I must admit i'd welcome a restriction on stupidly loud exhausts. :+:

Let's hope it happens soon.

Me too, maybe it'll make the manufacturers pull their thumbs out and start to make high flowing systems that psss track day regs and don't make your head explode when cruising on the motorway. I hate the chav tastic exhaust on my Eunos but I didn't want to have to pay out £600 or so for a bespoke item, so got an off the shelf one, wish I'd spent the extra.

i got a std bosal system for my eunos, some years ago now but was around the 200 mark. worth a look at.

and there really good prices too :thumleft:

semi closed and fairly quiet at start and when the cars warm and your away from your home push it back in for the full noise
