Finally got hold of him today. Prep for the Rally Ireland has taken a lot more resource than I gave credit for.

One good thing is that while he's over there, his dyno will be installed. And now the Rally cars are out of the way he should have a lot more time on the MR and other cars that are holding.

Will be arranging another visit for mid Feb, and hopefully collecting by end of Feb. His words, not mine so won't bother to get my hopes up just yet.

Not sure what dyno it is. I think I remember hearing that it was an old one thats been stripped and updated, so its kinda bespoke. When I next speak to him I'll ask some questions. :)

As for patience, to be honest, over a lot of the time I've given up hope. Was causing me more stress than it was worth so just kinda let time pass and got on with my life

I wish I could!! Nothing would make me happier than cracking one out of a silly power figure.

The latest is that the custom breather can is in, the cam cover is set ready to be modified for twin breathers. They're on the 3rd version of the wiring loom and they're going for individual coil packs now on the ignition. And I should be getting a custom airfilter made up too as there is a lack of space in that area.

Just out of interest why are you needing 2 breathers on the cam cover?

And if its not finished by the time ive got my garage built you can bring it to me and i'l finish it for you! :thumleft:

haha nice one!! You having a garage built then? I'd kill for my own good sized garage!

Twin breathers was a recommendation of his, and one I was happy to go with. I'm sure there is a technical reason, but I'll discuss that with him another time.

edit:

Just had a couple txts from him. He's hoping to have the motor started next week! If thats the case then it should be on the dyno shortly after.

I'm just going to carry on busying myself with other things tho to pass the time... much the same as the last 20 months, rather than getting my hopes up just yet. #-o

Latest news is that the UR Crank Pulley has gone for machining so the Trigger wheel can be fitted. Cam cover is modified, painted and refitted, coil packs are in, loom is in. Not much left to do before voltage can be passed through the car and he can start to get it running

Just had an update that there is Electricity now being passed through the car. Some of the wiring is being simplified, and there were comments of Toyota liking to use 5 relays when 1 would have done the job.

Big milestone \:D/

I just had a call and heard my car running for the first time in 626 days! It fired on the button! Oil pressure went straight up and it sounded really sweet!! Boost pipes weren't connected so it was only running N/A. Turbo was rolling nicely which is all good to know.

Still got the Air filter to sort out, but all in all... I am beginning to see the end of the tunnel.

Just not looking forward to the call back tonight to pay an invoice. :(
