I posted in the general section about this a few months back about a lot of members not showing respect for fellow IMOCers selling cars and it seemed to improve for a while.

Too many people post disposable comments knocking people's cars and price points when they have no actual interest in the sale. It is often the same people who do it in every single thread.

Obviously if there is a glaring error or an attempt to deceive in the advert that might harm a fellow member then it should be pointed out.

Otherwise if people have nothing constructive to bring to an IMOC for sale thread then they should keep quiet instead of effectively sabotaging it.

Glad you finally got her sold mate, even if it wasn't close to the price you wanted.

Ok we will all keep quiet at a hugely overpriced car and it wont sell. Or we could offer some advice to help the seller realise its far too much. Its not offensive. This car in particular was very very nice but I could have got a lot newer and just as nice for the same money.

Simple fact is if you dont want advice, dont come on a public forum. :thumleft:

nakamura, yes this is a public forum.

Yes when I want advice I use public forums.

When I want to sell my car I post a thread saying I want to sell my car.

When I want advice about selling my car I post a thread asking for advice about selling my car.

Guess which type of thread this was. Try reading from the start, and noticing the dates.

Then take your advice somewhere it is asked for.

Always amusing to be told to grow up by someone who cannot capitals, or can't be bothered to read the entire thread.

The car was valued at the time I put it up for sale around the £5000 mark. I was looking for more at the time. Situations change, economic climates change. I have sold for less than my original asking price. Why that means that I was wrong and "we were all right" I don't know.

I know that no one "slagged" my car, that is why I made no reference to it. There are many ways to suggest that a price is too high, being rude on a public forum is just plain daft when all that happens is that everyone's car is devalued.

Nakamura: your car ain't worth 10p. See?

Well you can't string a whole sentence together! Cannot capitals?

Anyway I was typing one handed while holding my little girl if thats ok.
And even in April 5k was too steep. I see what you mean about lowering the value of everyones cars but that wouldn't happen as the market was so low anyway. The market crashed last autumn. Its hitting rock bottom now.

BTW calling us idiots on this forum didn't do you any good. You could have asked any mods to clean the thread up.

I simply responded to the way you behaved.

To be honest its people like u driving down prices , i feel a rev 3 turbo in good condition should be worth 5000 , shame if u list a car for that much people come along and say ooooooooo i got mine for 3000 . and so on . hence driving down the cost of the car . on autotrader rev3 turbo's are all going for around 4500 /5000 . its just this fourm that u can get them dirty silly cheap . becuase people have to have there say . A for sale thread should be the person selling the car puts up a price, then if u want to buy the car u pm/phone him/her then buy the car . not some sort of ebay auction where u tell people what they should be selling there car for .

if u dont like the price like in a shop u dont buy it .

Are you stupid? Toyota have pulled new cars from the market. Reported no targets for the next year. Honda out of F1. Suzuki and Subaru out of WRC Sales in the US are down 36%. Our banks had to be saved from meltdown. Billions have been lost around the world. The pound is almost equal to the euro.

I think that explains car prices. You opinion means jack. Dont forget rev3s are 14-15 years old now and ten a penny.

People dont post things to lower the price. Its offering advice to other sellers. In thid case the seller didnt want it. He should have PMed a mod to have the thread cleaned and told us to stay out.

Simple fact is you can get so much for then a rev3 turbo for 5k.

as i said only on this fourm with a few people posting up on peoples for sale threads pushing them down . look on autotrader or pistonheads at rev 3 prices .

offering advice to other sellers as u well put where does it say in his for sale ad please give your opinion on my asking price and slate it to others .

"Simple fact is you can get so much for then a rev3 turbo for 5k." dont know what this means ????

Can the seller please PM myself and confirm this MR 2 is sold and who the buyer was please. Everyone has had their say so going to finalise it - add the buyers name once confirmed. Understandably when discussing pricing its an emotive topic regarding our pride en joy.

As James has mentioned we should respect members threads and posts and treat people as one might like to be treated - likewise most actions will cause similar reaction this is common sense so take a little time with thought to replies and responses.

As they say best say nothing if its not going to be positive.'This computer is not real life'.Who was it who said " I thought he/she was stupid, but when they opened their mouth it confirmed it. So in the Holiday Season And Spirit - Peace To All.
