Andy Forster Dyno Results From Thor Today 407bhp at hubs!

As title really, I will let Andy fill you in on the details...

Essentially he hit 408bhp at 1.6 bar i think? Before the injectors started to run out and limited the power.

The day was severely hampered by a coolant problem which Andy has got to track down.

Excellent results though!!

Neil.

Great to see the figures reflect the kind of stuff the butt dyno suggested :)

Andy, what did they think that the coolant problem could be? Did they say any more after we spoke on the phone?

Those are WICKED numbers! Although the graphs look a bit weird in the midrange. A bit like a set Neil had done there. Why does torque dip at about 5300RPM? That's roughly where it should be peaking.

Glad to hear you've finally got some good numbers though, mate! :D

Our plots do look similar, although the only ones I have online are from when the car had a cat and a 2" exhaust!

The ones they had on computer showed a striking resemblence, except mine are about 20bhp lower at the same boost levels.

He's using a Spearco, and no one is more shocked than me that he's managing to get those numbers on that IC! :shock:

It was *very* cold in there today, we were both shaking with cold for most of the day - I took shelter in the office with an electric heater!.

It is a big IC core though, much bigger than I expected and Andy's turbo is a monster so assuming the core will flow the boost, inlet temps shouldnt have been an issue today.

Proof of the pudding will be at 30 degrees at Elvington in the summer!.

Recently (as Neil knows), I've measured EVERY dimension of the following IC cores:
* Stock IC
* Spearco IC
* ST205CC

And that's why I didn't think that the Spearco could flow that much, as the ST205 is considerably larger for flow! :o :o

That makes me wonder how much air the ST205 core can flow! :shock:

Cheers fella
Useing the Spearco, but mounted at the opposite side away from manifold, did better than i thought, also there was no cooling fan pointing at it!!

Hi mate
They didn't really say, i now think its getting under the HG, gonna try re-torqueing the head bolts a bit more :?
Also putting that bent pipe back on.
Pretty sure its not a cracked block cos Fraser checked for this last time (enderscope) ouch
will have a mess tomorrow, and let you know if i have any joy.

Nah, don't think it's the block. After I spoke to you, I did think that it can't be the HG because otherwise you'd see the coolant temps rise with boost. But then I thought again, what else could be causing the coolant system to pressurise? Puzzled, mate! But am sure we can work it out. Have you spoken with Ian at all?
