You have a new icon under network in the XMB to access it.

Probably not a lot, I don't think it'll run on their systems ;)

I've just had a quick read of the wiki article on Home, and it looks quite an interesting concept... apart from paying real money to buy things for your virtual house?? :-k

Have you guys made your avatars yet, if so post em up! It'd be good to see how they compare to our slightly gay xbox ones :D

Not installed it yet, knowing my luck the beta will have been pulled by the time I get home from work ;)
Doubt I'll be spending any real money on 'things' ! The virtual world '2nd life' has people who make a good living selling virtual accessories and whatnot.

There's been a lot mentioned the last couple of days regarding the open beta going live and a possible crimbo release.

Not spent a massive amount of time on it but your avatar/character has a more human look but the graphics aren't anything special. I still like the idea of game/clan rooms to meet up and launch directly into games but all the talk of it being like sims/second life doesn't interest me one bit.

PS. You need to reserve 3gb of HDD space

It isn't an install Matt

It just asks you to confirm 3gb of HDD space, Once your actually in HOME it looks like every location you visit is an additional download that then gets stored in the 3gb reserve. The initial install is 77mb if you leave your appartment it d/l's another 46mb (at which point i turned it off)

Not much to be honest. As far as i can tell the general opinion of it is "what am i supposed to do with it" or "most hassle ive ever been through just to play chess".

Glad it's not just me then.

It's pants.

Here I am wandering around aimlessly, and look... everyone else is wandering around aimlessly.

It's pants.

Hmm I can't seem to sign in to it. Network error for some reason?

Yeah they're overloaded at the moment because of the take up, took me around 5 attempts to get in. Once the initial novelty wears off the load will go down a bit.
It's only a beta so not polished yet.

Novelty wears off? Try again in 10 minutes then, should have no problem.
